Hit the shot stick in the direction that you're running instead of pulling it back as normal. I don't believe you can shoot the on-command leaners/floaters with the button. Yet another reason to use the shot stick.

Hold turbo, press shot stick in the direction you're running. Hitting Allen coming off a screen and then keep running in that direction and press the shot stick the same way that you are running is a thing of beautyComment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
This has to be THE best demo 2K has ever put out... so much so that I can actually see myself finishing up multiple seasons in Association mode. the AI, pacing and shot selection is all there and the D actually has a team system.
PS: Fisher will kill you with the 3 if you leave him... the man does not hesitate to shoot it.Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
so thats just the leaner animation right? I mean it looks better. but I really just want ray allen to come off a screen, catch and quickly shoot with no real leaning. if thats more effective, ill use it, but itll still be quite a gripe for meComment

I agree Ruben... the quick catch and shoot needs to be quicker because it screws up your release when it has that little hitch. Same complaint I have with shooting out of the jab step.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I just did it with kobe comming off the screen....it was something ive never seen in a basketball game it was so smooooooooth.i still cant really catch and shoot off screens. big gripe of mine right about now. i just now on the harder difficulities my shots wont be going on as they are now.
Btw the CPU lakers had a fastbreak on me. kobe ahead. i was rondo and planted myself in the paint wanting to get posterized. instead kobe throws an alley to odom and I get plowed over by the incoming odom. offensive foul. lovely lovely contextual animationsComment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Just hit pass again before it arrives. Hitting pass the first time and then hitting it again and holding seems to be the most reliable method.
Didn't they say that they were giving us the option to hold RB and keep the icons up for multiple icon passes? I know Live has that, but the icons keps going away after the first pass in the demo...Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Pierce's shot is the exact same as last year. I can't believe they didn't change it considering how horrendous it is.Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
My impressions of the PS3 demo? 2K is getting my money. I'm sold.
I loved 2K8. It finally took the throne as the best basketball game ever for me from NBA Live 99. I'm thinking 2K9 will be even better. The animation looks nicer. The controls feel more responsive, I feel like I'm in more control. Graphics are up a bit. The demo just feels good!
I also have to give credit to the "2K network". In game music isn't this rap/hip hop junk anymore. It's more like televised sports music, and that gets me stoked!
I'm going to go with the PC version because my comp can handle it, I have a controller to use with it, my PS3 is hooked to my computer monitor anyway, so no advantage for PS3 there, and it should have higher resolutions. So unless some key things are missing, or it's just a terrible port, PC version is for me, otherwise, I guess I'll have to fork up the $60. Either way, you're getting my money 2K. Thanks for making a good game even better! (so far)Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Allen's release seemed faster (more accurate in 2k8). I could be misremembering though. I love the off the ball movement. It really allows you to play the pg position and see the floor. This makes the game much more fun for me, as you couldn't really create shots for people last year without running the same boring plays. The game is ours we'll never foul out. - Jay-Z
