    Bulls Association Users

Hey all, to all those who use the Bulls in their Association, I wanna pick your brain on what you've done so far.

How many games per season do you do?

Do you play all your games or sim? Or a combination?

    What lineups do you use?

    What trades have you made?

It's a struggle scoring with the Bulls for me with the zero inside presence and lack of size at the 2. I am a stickler for realism so I will only make trades that I can see the Bulls and the other team making. For example, I will not trade Ben Gordon. It's not because I don't want him. It's because this whole past summer, no one wanted to trade for Gordon, so there really are no takers out there. I will probably end up letting him go at the end of the season.

I will try to move Hinrich, Nocioni (I can't stand his shot, it's sooo slow), and Gooden.

Any other feedback and opinions appreciated.

From what has been reported, the Heat were interested and the Bulls & Heat supposedly had a deal, however, Ben Gordon needed to accept the terms of his new contract (since he was to be signed & traded) and he didn't so the trade fell through.

If I remember right, the supposed trade was:

Bulls give: Ben Gordon, Joakim Noah & Larry Hughes
Heat give: Shawn Marion & Marcus Banks

Then again, Marion isn't much of a post presence either, but probably better than anyone the Bulls currently have. Also, Gooden is a pretty underrated scorer (and is currently the best thing the Bulls have...) so personally, I'd keep him unless you trade for a PF.

I'm currently on Game 4 "Bulls @ Magic", playing on 8 Minute Quarters, 82 Games, on Adjusted Sliders.

        Currently 3-0

        Rose - 23 PPG, 11 Assist, 7 Rebounds

        Gordon - 16 PPG, 48% FG

        Gooden - 10 PPG, 10 Rebounds

** I would recommend keeping Gooden, and maybe try Noah. Noah is probably the best rebounder on the Bulls team in NBA 2k9, but his offense struggles, while Gooden is a bigger body and can back down a bit. Of course Gooden won't be able to score with ease against Garnett, but most average PF's and C's he will do fine.

I don't have any complains about my team, everyone is doing everything right. I started with Hinrich coming in as PG and Hughes going SG, but I seen Hinrich was doing a much better job as SG, so I swapped it around a bit. Here is my starting 5 and bench

        G - Rose
        G - Gordon
        F - Deng
        F - Thomas
        C - Gooden

        Second Unit

        G - Hughes
        G - Hinrich
        F - Thabo
        F - Noc
        C - Noah

(I also swap Deng to PF and have Noc and SF to hit the 3s. Thabo doesn't seem as good as he did in 2k8, so he's minutes are low on my squad now. I played Gray a total of 3 minutes and in those 3 he went 4/4 FG and 3 rebounds, so he might get more minutes if Noah, and Thomas struggle.)

Gordon is just as streaky as in real life. Against the Bucks he scored around 26, then Boston 10 for 2-11 FG, finally against Grizzlies 28 9-13.

Rose is damn good in this game and fast as hell.

I start Rose at PG Hinrich at SG Deng at SF Thomas at PF and Gooden at C

little Ben Gordon is the 6th man
Noc and Noah get nice minutes.

Thabo and Gray get some time too.

I hate Hughes... I want him gone, but it's tough to dump that salary. I wouldn't mind trading Gordon either. I have both those guys on the block looking for some inside help.

I'm 2-2 so far. Beat the Bucks and Grizz at home, Grizz by 1 with a last second Ben Gordon jumper. Lost to Boston bad and lost to the Magic by 12. As much as i hate to admit it Noah isn't too bad on here. He can avg. 10 and 10 for you plus a couple blocks. Right now he's like 7 ppg 10 rpg 3 assist and 2 bpg for me. Gooden isn't bad either he's around 12 ppg and 8 rpg for me. Rose is at 13 ppg and 6.5 apg. Thomas is really good he seems like he's going to turn into a beast on here.

Guys I want to get rid of
            Hughes-worthless
Nocionni-can't do too much with him
Hinrich-not bad but probably the best trading chip i've got. I don't think i'll deal Gordon because he has the best outside game.

I'd like to deal Noah, can't stand him but he's pretty good. I've also been having success with Gray as well. It looks like i'm going to have a pretty realistic season so far. I've beat the teams i should and lost to the ones i should've.

I'm a Rox fan but I always use one of the top 3 players drafted in the game, so last season I was the Sonics. I don't like taking the top teams, I like to build my own dynasty.

I played a few games in the season until it was clear that we were going to be one of the worst teams and simmed most of it.

I traded Hinrich to the Bobcats for S.Brown and Gerald Wallace. Rose is just so good on this team and Kirk doesn't mesh with what I want to do. Wallace doesn't help with scoring, but he's more athlethic and plays better defense than Deng.

My lineup for the second season is...

              Rose
              Gordon
              Gerald Wallace
              T.Thomas
              Noah
              6-Deng/ Hughes

I did draft 4th...but idk the guy is supposed to be like Tim Duncan and I think my scouts failed me there. Scoring is a bit easier with Gerald because of his hops.

Gooden didn't want to resign. I think i'm doing a good job, will probably have another losing season but i'll have a lot of cap to help out in the '10 FA market...imagine if LBJ doesn't resign or Stoudamire

I'm not sure Bobcats would need Hinrich. They still have Felton and they just drafted D.J Augustine.

A team like Dallas or Phoenix could certainly use Hinrich.

Yeah your right, I didn't offer it though. Overall the CPU has made some good trades and no blockbuster trades at all through the first season. Tayshaun was on the block but the Pistons never traded him.

For those of you who didn't already answer, how many games do you have set in a season? And do you play most of them or sim? I'll probably try to do 82 games, and play most of them. Let's see if I'm patient enough. Because every time I do a franchise/association type, I always lose interest/patience around mid season and have the urge to sim the rest of the season to go to the offseason to add pieces to my team.

Also what difficulty are you playing on? With or without sliders?

As for trades, I'm torn between just keeping it as the real life Bulls for the sake of realism or mixing it up. Most of you I'm reading have not made any trades and are keeping the team as is. There are players I would like to make, but I really take my trading partners' needs into consideration. Could this team really use Hinrich? Gordon? Or am I basically just ripping them off?

Some deals I am kind of eyeing...thinking about
Hinrich for JR Smith? ----I was pissed when the Bulls traded away Smith the moment we got him in the Chandler deal. We get a tall scoring 2 Guard.

Hinrich and Nocioni for Aldridge and LaFrentz---this one probably borders the unrealistic side. Because of that, probably won't do it.

The Lakers Offered me Farmar and Bynum for Rose

Not terrible offers so that's pretty cool. Made me go hmmm for at least a second. My lineup if i I did accept:

Yeah idk if the trades will go down either. I'm not talking of the finance side.

The team AI seems to value those up and comers like Smith and Aldridge. The Trade AI is really good this year, you won't see guys like Smith moved around because his upside.

I play 82 games but I only play like one game a week on the schedule.

Last year it seemed like the CPU just made trades to make them, this year they are more realistic I feel.

                              Really!?!?

Pretty much the same deal offered for me. Bynum and Sasha for Rose.

I think the Lakers on my game are desperate because they didn't win the chip in my first season simmed, and traded Lamar for I forgot who at the moment. This was a little after I decline their offer also.
