My excuse is that I'm a 6'1", 195 lb., slow-moving power forward. That, and I'm not expecting the puck back immediately or when I'm being blanketed by 2 defenders.

Ah well, at least I can make up for it with my mad defensive skills.

Also, one telling thing in this article - the writer playing BAP as a goalie - seems a huge exercise in frustration. If you play as a forward on a high-paced good skating offensive team, like the Pens, Wings or Oilers and it's a blast.

I do agree, you're given a bit too high a profile on the big club much too early. It should be more like The Show where it takes a longer time to make the NHL. An option for a bit less ice time would be a good idea, but personally, I love being out there 15-20 minutes a game.

Don't get me wrong with BAP, but my biggest downfall with the game is not being drafted. Instead just picking a team you want to play with. I would enjoy it better if you were actually drafted.

Go online, find a random number generator and have it give a number between 1 and 30. List the NHL teams alphabetically and whatever number you're given, go to that team.

Just close your eyes and then press up and down randomly for 30 seconds or so.

That's what I'd like to see changed too.

In NCAA you play 4 games on route to the State High School championship.
Based on those 4 games, your attributes and recruiting worth are determined.

In NHL10, they should mirror this by having you play in the Memorial Cup. It's about the same length in games and would help determine your draft value.

Hoping to be drafted by your favorite team, or slipping in the draft would be a cool experience.
Especially if say, you were a goalie, and got drafted by the Devils. Welcome to Lowell for the next 5 years!

I don't know if anyone else came across this, but I think there might be a pretty big glitch in Be A Pro. I can't get off the ice whenever a game goes into overtime. I skate to the bench when my player is tired, but he won't hop over. He just stands by the bench and continues to tire out. Has this happened to anyone else?

Has happened to me but i think it was not in overtime, the red icon was flashing at the bench, i went there and my guy didn't hop over, so i kept playing and tried like 30 seconds later and he jumped and got benched.

You know, this is why half the stuff in these games never works properly. Gamers keep demanding more and more, leaving less and less time for the developers to work on gameplay and QA.

If someone wants to play on a random team, just find a random method to choose one. Two posters already suggested how.
