Ian and Phil have proved nothing, and don't deserve the amount of respect or admiration that many around here give them. Nothing they have done has shown that next years game will be better, and I hope too many people aren't waiting for another sub-par game. This DLC meant a lot to some, mostly people who were unhappy with the Robo-QB and accelerated clock. Others didn't care if it came out or not, they are the ones who are quite content playing a game that isn't very good, and don't care if it gets better. If you don't care about the DLC not coming out, good for you, enjoy this unrealistic, sub-par game. I will be playing all the great games out there.Comment

Translation, we have your money and now we'll work to get it again next year. I know this is disappointing to all and I know this next sentence may sting a little but.......you're all partially to blame. EA continues to let you down, and you continue to have hope. The same people who are frustrated and say this sucks and this is the last straw and they won't buy Madden next year, you'll be in line at midnight for Madden 2010. Online cheesers are the target market now and that's all you have, that's all the NFL has given you. This was predicted years ago when EA purchased the right for no competition. It will continue on the downward spiral until hell freezes over, the NFL exclusive contract is over, and a company stands up to take the giant down.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.New Jersey Devils- 1995, 2000, 2003

Re: Phil Frazier Says No 3rd Patch or DLC For Madden 09
I posted this in the NCAA thread and I think this applies to Madden as well, since they are related and have the same company working on them.
I do not believe EA/Tiburon has the capacity to make a complete NCAA/NFL football game because they are stuck in their "if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality". They still have millions of copies flying off the shelves and just because alot of people are trading the game in, it does not reflect their bottom line negatively. I believe their CEO said it best when he was quoted as saying the investors do not care about the cames content, only their bottom line. Therefore, I would advise everyone to not be so suprised when you get the same engine and problems next year, but next July/August these boards will be buzzing and we will be duped again by their community days and fall for the bananna in the tailpipe and give them our money. Why? Because we can't help it we are football feens who must have their yearly fix. As for me, I am entering EA Sports rehab and not buying their games until they change significantly with their approach to providing us with the real "If it's in the game, its in the game." However my lost to them means nothing unless a million of EA Football gamers take the same approach, but that is wishful thinking.
Phil, Ian and Adam I wish you the best, but I know your pain with dealing with executives and investors who can care less about authenticity. You catch the flack for their shallow visions and focus on money and not innovation. However, you have blls to pay and families to take care of and because of that you roll with what you are told. Everyone here would do the same if they were in your role, and should not bash them, but look at who tells them what they can and not do with their projects. The consumers are the only ones who can make them change by not forking over the money on day 1, but once again wishful thinking. EA, I congratulate you on such a successful business model, but be wary every good thing does eventually come to an end without innovation and revolutionary changes in their products. So ride the wave of success while you can with your buddies! (NFL, NCAA, Nascar)Comment

Exactly, no need to bash something thats already awful in the first place, sure its disappointing... but if ths game was worth DLC, i would care... I mean cmon, no refs, same animations over n over... those are just 2 lil things that make this game look like and play like ****....
Who cares about DLC?
I just want a good next gen football game... besides the graphics... this game is like its meant to played on PSP...
Definently not buying madden 2010 for the first time in years.... waiting on user reviews and gameplay videos first. definently
Nobody even talks about madden anymore its hilarious and .. sadSKINS

I agree. If you dont like Ford cars dont buy one.I love the NFL.Love attending the games. When my team loses I take it personally.Sunday ticket .Jerseys .DVD Tickets.Hats , Shirts, etc.I spend big money supporting my team.EA, I like a lot of people dont feel we are getting the NFL as we see it on T.V. and in person.Last night I was watching the Pats game where they were going for the fumble.3 or more guys falling down going after it.Cutler getting hurt hitting his hand on a helment, the late hits ,T.O. trash talking the offensive line to get it going, the Peyton Manning audibles, the fiery Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith.Im thinking when will EA football come remotely close to what I see Live and on TV.2010? 2030? I hope they do but till then I wish them the best and Ill save my $60 and buy more Redskins gear . Since Im talking Redskins, HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS??? and I digress. Like I said no need to bash just dont give em your cash.If you dont like it dont buy it.Money talks...you know the restLast edited by kcq71; 10-21-2008, 10:12 PM.Comment

Yup, and he was dead-on. It can apply to any aspect of life. Whether it's eating better, exercising, not drinking and driving. If you want change, you have to change your own actions. It's not going to happen on its own.New Jersey Devils- 1995, 2000, 2003

I don't what's worse, us for being idiots for buying this game each year or EA for screwing us every time. The solution is so simple, we need to stop buying this game. If sales plummet, we'll get the best football ever madeComment
