    Cheifs Dynasty

Ok so I was getting bored with my Bills franchise, so I started a 'chise with the Chiefs. I was looking for a team to rebuild via draft and free agents and the Chiefs seemed like a good pick. I am holding myself to some rules and trying to keep things realistic when it comes to trades, free agent signings, and so forth. I will limit myself to signing 5 free agents in the offseason and 2 max (not including own) restricted free agents.
Notable moves in the 08 preseason:

Signed RT Shane Olivea, FB Reagan Mauia, TE Scott Chandler, and Ed Johnson, and Shawntee Spencer.
Replaced kicker Novak with Brandon Coutu.
Moved McIntosh from RT to RG

After simming the preseason, (2-2) these are the resulting depth charts.

    Offense:
    QB1: D. Huard, QB 2 B. Croyle, QB3 T. Thigpen
    RB1: L. Johnson, RB2: K. Smith, RB3: J. Charles
    FB: Mauia
    WR1: D. Bowe, WR2: W. Franklin, WR3: D. Darling, WR 4: J. Webb
    TE1: T. Gonzalez, TE2: B. Cottam, TE3: S. Chandler
    LT: B. Albert
    LG: B. Waters
    C: R. Niswanger
RG: D. McIntosh (injured 1 week) A. Jones
    RT: S. Olivea

    Defense:

    LE: A Boone
    DT1: G. Dorsey, DT2: E Johnson
    RE: T. Hali
    LOLB: D. Edwards
    MLB: P. Thomas
    ROLB: D. Johnson
    CB1: P. Surtain, CB2: B. Flowers, CB3: S. Spencer, CB4: B Carr
    FS: J. Page
    SS: B. Pollard
    K: Coutu
    P: Colquitt

I plan on simming the entire season with these rosters and proceeding with the offseason. More to come when the regular season starts.

    Re: Cheifs Dynasty

Well the 2008 season has come to a close for the Chiefs who finished 6-10. If it wasn't for some untimely injuries late in the season to Larry Johnson and Bernard Pollard, they might not have dropped the last 4 games and finished with a winning record. The tumultuous season saw the alienation of star running back Larry Johnson who repeatedly called out management and ownership regarding the teams unwillingness to bring in people to help him win a championship. Ownernship declines to comment on Johnson's status with the team but it is widely speculated by league sources that he will likely be traded in the offseason.

SuperBowl XLIII was played between the NY Jets and the Washington Redskins with the Jets comming out on top 31-12. Thomas Jones led the Jets with 184 yards rushing including a 71 yard touchdown. Quarterback Brett Farve threw for 197 yards and 2 TDs but did have a fumble that was returned for a touchdown by London Fletcher of the 'Skins. Following the game he acknowledged that this year was tougher than he thought it would have been and he is physically and mentally worn out. Although not directly stating it following the game, it is believed that Farve will finally hang up his cleats for good following winning his second championship.

The rumors were true. Brett Farve has finally hung up his cleats, retiring after winning his second SuperBowl. Around the organization, the Chiefs witnessed two of their players as they retired as well. Starting Quarterback D. Huard and LOLB D. Edwards both retired following the completion of the 2008 season.

            .
I'm a Chiefs fan so I always use them in franchise mode.
I'm staying as close to real life as possible for the first season. Started with EA's roster update #10 and have not signed anyone yet.
            My offense:

QB: Thigpen , Gray (Croyle, Huard out for season)
HB: Charles , Johnson , Savage ( Smith out for season)
            FB: Cox , Merritt
WR: Bowe, Bradley, Franklin , Darling , Webb
            TE: Gonzalez , Cottom
            LT: Albert , Taylor
LG: Waters , De La Puente
            C: Niswanger
            RG: Jones , Carnahan
            RT: Richardson , Mcintosh

            Defense:

            LE: Hali , Tyler
RE: Johnston , McBride ( Johnston is only a 71 but has 82 speed, he gets sacks)
            DT: Dorsey, Booone , Edwards
LOLB: Williams , Boiman (I run alot of Nickle so I moved D. Johnson to MLB and D. Edwards to ROLB so the two best LB are on the field.)
            MLB: D. Johnson , Thomas
            ROLB: D. Edwards , Walden
CB: Flowers , Carr , Surtain
            FS: Page, McGraw
            SS: Pollard , Morgan
            K: Barth
            P: Colquitt

            KR: Robinson , Bradley
            PR: Robinson

So far using custom settings I got from this site, 10 minute quarters I'm 3-0

EDIT: I just saw that Thigpen and Bradley got a little ratings boost in Roster update # 11 so I'm going to start over since I'm only in week 4.
