One place to start would be to set up some mic games with good APF players who can see what you've got and tutor you as you go. If you have a mic, I have a new team I'm trying out and would be up for playing and discussing playcalling, etc.

You should also look up all posts by tombsong, LBzrule, and a couple other really knowledgeable folks about how the game is played to get your bearings.

But I think learning as you play is good, 'cause like any video game, there's what works in reality and what works in the game. APF gets as close to marrying the two as I've ever seen, but it's still a game and you need to know how it works to do well.
