Sounds to me like he is either a transfer from another D-1 school or the CPU screwed up and classified him as a D-1 transfer, rather than a JUCO transfer. You probably already know this, but if a player transfers from one D-1 school to another, he has to sit out a year. Either you read his status wrong or the CPU screwed you. Either way, see if you can redshirt him than his status won't matter.
