    Trainer makes a big difference...huge.

Also, don't practice them every day.

And rotate your runners during the game, mix up your plays so they get breathers. When they tire down, that's when they might turn the ball over.

Head Coach 09 is a good game. It's been awhile since I have been wrapped up in a Video Game like this.

I find myself getting ticked off when things go bad. Yelling at the screen and the thoughts of yanking someone after they screw up.

The stomach churning a little when the game is a nail biter. Knowing momentum has changed and you need to pick up the first down to keep the other team off the field.

I enjoy it the game allot. EA needs to keep this thing going.

Made the Roy Williams trade before the actual trade was done.

What the Lions were asking for was comparable to what actually when down!

I gave up my first and third rounders in 09!

          The developers did their homework!

Its a great game. the amount of depth is insane and will have you spinning trying to learn everything but once you have it down its smooth sailing.

            *side note
I found if you could pick up one of the best trainers that you could run practice all week and only a handful of players that have low stamina would not be at 100%

              Good point.

I still keep to my philosophy of taking Tuesdays off if we get the win (which is the usual during the season...but playoffs? LOL) but if we lose, I practice them all week.

Picking up my 99 trainer after my first season is the single best thing that's happened to me in this game so far, no lie.

Re: is nfl HC 09 still worth it?

My trainer was really bad. He got fired after the season and I hired a trainer with a 99 rating. I am hoping that helps make a difference.

I rotate my backs a fair amount. Steven Jackson definitely gets the lion's share of the touches but I don't usually let him drop below 80% fatigue. I am definitely bad about swapping out defensive linemen and it showed in injuries. I didn't have great depth so I used my starters too much.

As for practice I base that on how banged up they are. Later in the season I am more inclined to give them a day off.

I am currently in my 3rd offseason, so it is 2010. I am about 30 days from the draft and I hope I will have time to get through the draft tonight.

Yes made the playoffs 2nd season with Miami, did a ton of trading and amassing draft picks. Lost the SB year 3.
Still need to grab a standout QB have 2 mid 80's guys, have 16 picks in the draft so I will trade up.

I sim more than I play. When I sim rushing totals are better, but I needed to build the stratagey and play calling up for my HC. My offensive coordinator had a max level of 2 for playcalling. used HC for Offense plays and DC for defensive plays until recently since myHC now has a higher playcalling ability than my DC.

I also combo play/supersim games so I do some of everything. When I play I call the offensive plays and let the DC call is unless the other team is moving the ball.
I find the switch in play calling helps my defense out. then I will let the DC take back over after a while.
Some game s the DC is great other than 3rd and long, seems to give up the 1st down to often so I just call 3rd down. I think is has to do withthe playbook sometimes. I use blitzing defense heavy on the blitz, so the dime and nickle cover plays just don't work as well. ( mostly because I should practice them more I guess)

develope staff it will show up in your clip board every so often, or its on the team part.

You can see what each coach on the team already has and use the points they have to upgrade tehm or even your hc.

                                It's really worth getting.

I might even go so far as to say that it's a solid reason to get a 360 or PS3, at least for a big football fan!
