I don't know what I have to do to show that you can score from several places on the ice other that to document it in video proof as well as proof you can defend the dekes easily as well. I think your the one feeling it's bad because you are only using cheap methods to score cause you feel the other methods are too much work when it is not. I have faced alot of the dekers and cheap players and hold them to 1 or 0 goals cause they never get more than 3 shots against me.

That is pretty bad. I'm not trying to 1-up you or anything, but check this out. It goes fast so you have to have a keen eye. I'm already down 3-0 in this game. Langenbrunner has the puck and shoots it at a 45 degree angle. The puck magically changes direction and goes into the net.The goals i am losing in this game are a joke, playing good defense just isnt rewarded, i dont mind losing the odd strange goal but if the AI wants to score it just feels like it will do whatever it takes to do it.
these are in the same game
I also had one of those goals that never crossed the line given against me, thats what started the AI on its momentum. it really is sickening.
It almost looks like the puck is on a yo-yo, or is a boomerang. I named the video "phantom winger", because the only way it could have changed direction like this is if person skating in one-timed it. But there was no-one else there. This goal made me so mad.

Re: NHL 09 Patch Released (360/PS3) -- Impressions here please
OUCH! Just.........wow! Looks like the same crap I've had to put up with. The goalies in this game are by far the biggest gamekillers for me. Seems I can't go through a game with at least one or two goals being scored like that by either the cpu or myself. Then again, if you watched the Wild vs. Pens on Versus last night and saw the first goal go in off the faceoff and trickle in.....maybe the goalie ai isn't that unrealistic. The goals i am losing in this game are a joke, playing good defense just isnt rewarded, i dont mind losing the odd strange goal but if the AI wants to score it just feels like it will do whatever it takes to do it.

Yeah i saw that goal, Sabourin never realised till it was behind him
.
It really is annoying, You can play flawless defense all game only for the dumb goals to happen, it really is hard to keep it together when it happens because you just feel like you are being cheated, well i do.
I dont think any of us minds losing to the CPU, its just the fashion it happens, it feels scripted and like you have no control. If the CPU beats me with good plays and pulls me out of position then fine, thats what i want but if it starts awarding goals that didnt go over the line or my controls mysteriously seem to fail at the time i am under pressure then i can do without that stress.
I cant afford to keep buying new controllers

I have a question about what you guys have your shot power slider set to. I've been doing some experimenting. If you have it anything under three the goalie really gets confused by the slower shots and doesn't seem to be able to gauge them properly from time to time.Comment

Yes, go to you Saved Game Utility and delete it. But you will have to disconnect from the internet, if you want to play pre-patch, or it will prompt you to d/l it everytime.Comment

It will take effect in the season right away. If you what slider changes you might want to put them back to defaults and reassess them, particularly if they are in areas affected by the the patch like shot accuracy.Comment

Haha, I wasn´t saying players can´t score from different spots or angles , I was saying that the game is beneffiting players who abuse repetetive behaviour online, and then namely the area right in front to the close area of the crease.I don't know what I have to do to show that you can score from several places on the ice other that to document it in video proof as well as proof you can defend the dekes easily as well. And I wasn´t saying that I can´t protect dekes, or other cheapness, I was saying that the patch has changed the behaviour of players online to the worse, and by the patch EA benefits this behavoiur.
And no, my winning streak is still holding on , so this "complaining" is about that the game doesn´t benefit players who makes and effort and "work". Got it?Comment

So esentially you're complaining that high percentage places to score from in the real NHL, are also high percentage scoring chances in the game, and its cheap because you have a hard time defending against dekes. Because thats what it sounds like. Learn to time poke checks and stick lifts and I promise you, people will have a much harder time walking into your zone tossing dekes.Haha, I wasn´t saying players can´t score from different spots or angles , I was saying that the game is beneffiting players who abuse repetetive behaviour online, and then namely the area right in front to the close area of the crease.

Defense in 09 to me is so rewarding, it amazes me how many people have such a problem with it.Comment

After getting sucked into other games for a while I popped this in yesterday and have played 2 awesome games on All Star! I notice more penalties, and the flow of the game is just great. Both games as the Coyotes. Lost 2-1 against the Blackhawks, lost 3-2 against the Blue Jackets. I lost, but the games were intense and just so fun to play.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

My biggest problem is my shot accuracy (especially after a few cold ones). In my last game, I had 18 minutes of attack time to 2 minutes for my opponent. My opponent had 64 hits and I had 6. I outshot him 29 to 6 and was leading 1-0 late in the third when he ran a created play that was designed to exploit the glitch goal when shooting near side when you are on the goal line and scored. I ended up losing in a shootout.Comment
