WR screens can counter Cover 2 to an extent. If you're fine with dinking and dunking your way down the field in 4 yard chunks, drag routes can work well. A major weakness in cover 2 is that in only rushes four, so if you're aware of the pressure you can wait for the coverage to break down. Try clogging the deep safety's zone with receivers with a trips formation; He can't cover all three.

I find that having a deep post / route that puts the receiver behind the zone coverage tends to free up a short slant with the ability for a few YAC.

send both outside WRs on a streak and send your TE/slot on a streak also. 2 deep safeties, 3 deep receivers. Only 2 can be covered--its money every time against cover 2.

they haven't played cover 2 as much this season though. they've been blitzing a lot more than they used to.

3 wide....can even motion a REC TE into the slot then run that slot on a deep middle pattern (post)

TE on Streak, Pump Fake and throw it when he gets just beyond reach of MLB.
2 WR on one side. Outside WR streak, Slot WR Deep Post In.

I run my offense out of the Guns snug Formation and a Simple Go route will torch the Cover 2.

If you don't use the Shotgun much, I would suggest using your TE on a go route to occupy the safety. That should also open up the flats if the LBs jump on him.

You beat Cover 2 by going to the deep post, deep middle, and using your RBs to block because you'll need time to make the throws to the WRs. Also, if you have a QB with a strong arm you can attack the safeties with fly routes from your slot recievers (these are aggressive ways to beat cover two). Good luck.
