I'm returning this game.

There are so many things that I'm damn sick and tired of seeing that the game has become unplayable and/or boring.

The player switching pause allowing the CPU to get to balls that you could, the lack of fouls, the defenders standing around even though I'm at Double aggression, my players waiting for passes and allowing the CPU to take them, the ridiculous percentage of cards/fouls, the fact that it normally takes one pass to get the ball to midfield, and finally my player watching a ball roll out of bounds that he can clearly get to has ended my relationship with this game.

I have edited players, Custom Tactics, and even played 20 minute matches and STILL have less than 10 total fouls per game. That's a disgrace.

PRO level is easy and boring(even with MANUAL settings), WC is unplayable because of the cutbacks(layoff sprint and the CPU runs past you, hold sprint down and they unrealistically cut back) and insane amount of CPU shots (I've edited the Shooting slider to 5), and MM is another disgrace. Sub patterns suck and add in Route One Football and you have a mess.

I think that when all is said and done, I just cannot take this game seriously with all of the cheesy little flaws/warts that it has.

Until the FIFA team starts to value things like build up play and a variety of attacks and defense, this game will always be an arcade game for the 10 year old Timmys of the world who like their online rankings and trick moves.

No. No. Don't do it. Just follow these steps:

3. Play more of exhibition matches
4. Play in WORLD CLASS
5. Play in dynamic cam (full height / zero zoom)

That's it. You're there. Especially try the last one. I can't tell you how much it has changed the game for me! DYNAMIC cam is the best view to play the game the way AI does! Just try it out and let me know.

Well I am sorry that you feel this way man.

I feel there are lots of areas for improvement of this game, but I can't take myself away from a quick match every now and then on Pro. Yes it may not be nearly as challenging on that level as I would like, but it provides me with a quick outlet to play that game I just saw on TV.

Maybe I'll try the "other" game after the holidays. Who knows.

Are you going to go without a soccer game now?

i have to agree with this one point... dynamic cam (with no zoom) is a great way to play this game... especially on WC.

Not at all. That's just my opinion on what the developers see as their most important marketing segment, therefore the game design is geared towards that group.

I don't have to tell most of the people in this forum that FIFA has always been known as the game with the pretty graphics, licenses and arcade gameplay, most already know this. Has the game improved? Of course, but there's still a ton of work to be done.

The lack of fouls/free kicks are what disgust me the most. Throw everything else I mentioned on top of it, and I've had enough.

BTW, I play on Dynamic camera only, but thanks for the ideas/tips.

sounds good - it is too bad its over for you. particularly since you were one who brought us a lot of information on the game early on. clearly you had high hopes and it sucks it has disappointed so much. maybe next year.

Do what I do: don't be very good, and the game becomes a real challenge!

The Pro cam along with manual passing and shooting settings are fantastic, regardless of all the little issues. Best sports game ever released (for the Xbox 360 anyway) IMO.

I sold mine back two weeks ago. I know a lot of people love this game, but the issues listed here are just gamebreakers for me. I'm just not going to take time to do massive player edits or whatever else you need to do to get the game to play as great as some people seem to have found.

First console game I've ever sold back. I stuck it out with Fifa 08, but can't do it again this year.

I really was sad by this, as there are so many things the game does amazing, but the flaws just literally drove me to smash a controller on the ground. EA has got to improve the teammate AI next year.

I agree with every single thing you posted 100%. I'm of the opinion that FIFA took a step backward this year instead. I'm pretty disappointed in them actually.

Riz - once again I have to agree with your findings. Despite all that users have tried to make this game playable, the game is not for me anymore. I was very excited to see the improved gameplay initially - but after 60 or so games, the bugs and gameplay mishaps are too damn frustrating.

Here's to Fifa 2010, FIFA 2009 had a good run and is a very good start - the online is absolutely incredible experience though, offline...not so much.
