Re: for people who played the show 09
I had an open-mind last year, and I purchased both games....one game got plenty of play, while the other one was quickly re-sold.....
I will give MLB 2K9 a try, maybe a rental, but definitely learned my lesson from last year.... -
Re: for people who played the show 09
I will im a little nuts though with baseball games, I know for a fact it wont even come close to the show, but it should improve, ill try anything once,
One thing i sure wont do tho like I have in the past is get 2k baseball the day it comes out, i wanna see some reactions first and if its not that great of feedback ill rent it first.
Last year I got 2K8 the day of and took it back 3 days later I dont wanna do that againComment

Re: for people who played the show 09
Definitely going to watch what they offer here in the way of videos and other media, but last year I still have a bitter taste re the person who posted how great the game was going to be and not to worry about frame rate, etc., etc.
I want two great games, but I'm not going to fork out the bucks this year if it's not a huge improvement over last years game. Let's hope they take some good strides with it this year.Comment

Re: for people who played the show 09
I will definitely give 2K9 a play, via rental or a buddy (if the particular one I'm thinking of caves and buys it right away...lol). I think there are a few things 2K does right and if they can toss some polish into it, it should be decent at least. I actually bought and enjoyed 2K7 because I could see clear improvement over 2K6. That wasn't as strong between 2K7 and 2K8 and The Show blew it away by a mile (my opinion, of course). So...here's hopin'

Re: for people who played the show 09
I would like to say that I'll do a Wait and see.
The reality is that I will get more and more excited about the game as we get closer to release date...
The fact that Visual Concepts is involved gives me that optimistic feeling...
I know I'm toast but Baseball is my main interest and I need to buy at least 2 games a year to make me feel OK about putting out the big bucks for my PS3 and my 46 in. 1080P Sony Bravia etc.
So you see in a way I'm forced to buy it... Go ahead twist my arm...
Just don't pull my finger...

Re: for people who played the show 09
Definitely taking a wait and see approach. Felt a bit burned by 2K8 after such strides they made with 2K7.
I guess that is why they always make rentals right?Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: for people who played the show 09
I always do. I wouldn't be opposed to getting both if if I thought they were good - I used to get both MVP and 2k if I liked them. I rented 2k8 a couple times and actually enjoyed the gameplay, but the framerate issues and 2k's refusal to patch the PS3 version really put me off buying that game.
Did they ever end up patching it?Comment
