Very true...I agree 100%. I just love the ebb and flow of the games I am having.

I know it takes a while to get used to the lack of animations and features that we all are used to seeing in CH.....but once you get over that and just sit down and pay attention to all of the things going on in this game while you are playing, it is really neat to see. I am really excited to see how EA continues to grow on this solid foundation that they have here.

Now, maybe its just because this game is one of the only 2 games I own (APF 2k8 being my only other game), or maybe its just because I am a college basketball junkie (I get excited about college basketball games like most of you guys get excited about madden and ncaa football)........but I am really enjoying this game.

A couple of more things I am loving:

    - Post play - I think I have mastered the controls of the dynamic post control....and it's great once you learn all the moves.

    - Being able to play 20-minute halves and get realistic scores and pretty decent stats.

    - Even tho it just happens at random moments, I like the the "Steve Wojciechowski slapping the floor on D animation". I know its a stupid thing, but i like seeing that animation lol...

    - I don't know who said every games feels the same, but I am glad that in my copy of NCAA 09, every game I play feels like a different game.

    - I know most people hate it, but I'm sorry, I love Dickie V. College basketball isn't the same without him. I actually do enjoy the commentary, BUT they do need to add ALOT more lines of commentary, because there are just too many times where I am not hearing anything from Nessler or Vitale. I think Vitale should get more excited when a team starts to go on a hot streak. I was just wishing I'd hear, "OHHHHHHHH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! IT'S OVER MR. NESSLER! IT'S OVERRRRRR!! OHHHHHHH," when I dunked the ball on a fastbreak off a steal to cap a 12-0 run and put my team ahead by 8 with 20 seconds to go. I wish he would get more excited as the home crowd gets more excited (as he tends to get in real life)....

Yeah, I have no idea what those people are thinking or seeing. The variety in the games I've played is pretty amazing.

        Ditto!!!!

I just started my UK Dynasty yesterday and beat VMI 78-62. I loved how VMI kept trying to push the ball up court and get us into a running game with them but I refused to fall into the trap. I slowed the game down forced some turnovers and got the ball into Patterson's hands and they had no answer for him. He ended up with 21 pts and 12 rebs, Meeks added 16 as well.

Next up UNC, I am already having nightmare's about it!!!!

          Same here.

I've had games where I've manhandled the opponent from the get go, games where I flexed my muscles in the second half to dominate, and games where its too close for comfort.

I'm getting a good range of games myself. I've had a few blow-out victory's and a few close ones. I actually had one game that came down to a drive to the hoop to drawl the foul for a 1 point victory with .5 seconds left. That was fun.

my goodness I hate Wink Adams of UNLV. He dropped 25 on me and just had some highlight moments against us. He dunked on E5, took Jerry Smith to school I don't know how many times, and was just a beast to contain. Thankfully, UNLV is out West and I don't have to deal with him anymore unless they reach the NCAA tournament.

Ended up bringing the game back and got CH2K8 again for PS3. Maybe next year EA.

Man, I rented NCAA 09, took it back, bought CH2k8, but now I think I like NCAA 09. It's a tough one. I like the player off-the-ball movement in NCAA. In 2k8, your fellow teammates just stand around. Fast breaks in NCAA absolutely own. There are pretty much NO FAST BREAKS in 2k8. My biggest disappointment in NCAA is in the tourney 16 seeds keep beating 1 seeds. If that can be corrected I may just shell out the dough to buy EAs game. Wouldn't that suck to play every game in a dynasty all year and make it to the tourney only to have three sixteen seeds knock off the number 1s???? That's what happened to me. Not an isolated case because the next year two number 1s went down again. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHH!

Was this before that patch was released that you played NCAA? I think the patch addressed some of those issues. I will check now

Duke, North Carolina, Kansas and Louisville all got Number 1 seeds and all advanced.

I can't remember if that was pre-patch or post man. That would be totally awesome if the patch fixed it though. Maybe someday a 16 will beat a 1 seed, but we have been saying that for a long time now and it hasn't happened.

                              Re: NCAA Basketball 09 Impressions

Picked up this game tonight. I wasn't planning on buying it, since I still like CH2K8, but I am getting a little tired of the same old engine. I just needed a change.

I'm glad I got the game. I played one full game and had a lot of fun on All conference default. What I really liked about the game was the spacing. That has always been my problem with CH2k8. The defense seems to always close in too quickly most of the time. I also enjoyed the transition game. The game definitely has a different feel to it than CH2k8 which is nice right now.

While the game is not perfect, I haven't had this much fun with a basketball game in some time. Maybe its just fresh to me, and I'll start seeing the warts soon however.

My one big gripe so far is that I can't tell who the CPU guys are unless I memorize numbers, and then it depends on whether I can read them or figure out who they are based on how they look. I just don't understand how you can leave out the names or positions under the CPU players. This goes beyond aesthetics really.

All and all EA is starting to make some good basketball games again. Kind of makes me want to buy NBA Live 09 now.
I'm looking forward to starting a season.

That was my impression of the game. No need for a sarcastic comment from you.
