I agree. And I'll go even further to say that I think there needs be more ball mishandles, bobbles, strips, and deflections and hacking fouls committed whenever the ball gets inside whether from the drive or from the post. A ballhandler driving to the basket should be susceptible to mishandling and/or losing the basketball while taking it into traffic past help defenders who are taking a swipe at it. Interior passes going through traffic should be deflected or bobbled by the receiver more often. A defender guarding a player in the post should be able to force the post player to mishandle the ball and sometimes lose it to a lurking help defender. Adding these things will ramp up interior defense and represent how difficult it should realistically be to get the ball inside and get a positive results out of doing so.
