Glitch you could use to your advantage.. If you choose!

Click the spoiler button to read it... But be warned, if you do read it. You'll probably end up using it to "cheat" and can ruin your fun if you have no will-power.

Just a warning... i may be incorrect but i believe if someone has not downloaded the patch, there was a pre-patch glitch were if you change a QB to a WR the QB would not switch back... thus ruining the player. Again, i may be wrong but that would suck if that were the case.

Sounds like a pretty useful glitch otherwise... nice find.

I've tried this in the past (and I haven't done the patch yet) with other positions except the

Yes, what I described above works back and forth.

That doesn't sound anything like a glitch.....more like cheating.

LOL, how can you change another team's player info? I don't have the game in front of me right now to check. Why would you have the option to change other teams' players information? That in itself seems like a glitch.

Re: Glitch you could use to your advantage.. If you choose!

I wouldn't do this personally because it ruins the realism of the game in itself. I'm in my 3rd season as the Redskins now.

1st year I went 3-13, did my scouting homework and picked up gem QB, HB, and LG.

2nd year I went 10-6 and made the wildcard playoffs but lost my first game. That draft I got gem WR, CB, and DT. I also had quite a bit of cap room and Brian Urlacher was on the FA that year, and picked him up on a 2yr-$11.5 mil contract.

3rd year I'm currently 2-0 and looking strong so far.

The reason why I won't do the above is because there are teams like the Lions who I had to play my 1st game who almost beat me. They had an incredible rookie QB (cant remember his name), and a VERY..VERY good defense.

Thats why I love this game and love the NFL..because anything can have any given sunday.

                Agreed.
I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I don’t think you realize that what you heard was not entirely what I meant.

I would call it a glitch because you shouldn't have the ability to edit ANOTHER teams players.

that may be true, but then you should file that one under "design flaw" and not "glitch"

but hey...we are arguing over syntax...

you know if they made it impossible to edit OTHER teams rosters there would be tons of complaints from people who need to have total control or something like that. people who dont need to have total control just have to control themselves and not edit the other teams rosters.

What I don't understand is how you could trade for the player you just manipulated without the CPU GM putting that player in the trading block? Do they automatically put players that are manipulated in the trading block? That seems like another glitch/flaw.

You can trade for guys who aren't on the trading block, you'll just have to pay a higher price for them then if they were on the block.

No thanks. What's the challenge in rebuilding the Lions by using exploits!

I had no idea that was even possible! But I guess some players (say Tom Brady) aren't going to be traded no matter what, correct? I never even tried trading for guys who weren't on the trading block. Where can you go to do that? When I first open the 'trade player' screen I thought it takes you directly to the trade block screen.

Go to Trade Players under the Team menu > Trade For > then navigate to the team and player you're looking for an hit 'A' (if you're on 360, I guess it's probably 'X' on PS3). Generally you'll get a screen where you can make different offers with the opposing team's coach or GM saying "we're not really interested in trading away [player], so you'll have to make us a great offer". If you don't have enough guys on the block or they don't want picks you'll sometimes get a message, the jist of which is "This team isn't interested in any of the players on your trading block. You can add more players to the block to try and get them interested".

As for players like Brady, I would imagine there are guys out there who teams just won't trade, but I don't have any experience myself. The only great players I traded for were defensive players in the last year of their contracts (Demico Ryans and Shawne Merriman).
