Of course. These "busters" are now 3-1 in these games. Reason #20403034583405348 that we need a playoff. Over rated teams get exposed and we decide it on the field.

Re: Does Utah deserve a chance at a split MNC?
Did '06 Boise also have wins over a team that was one win away from the Rose Bowl and an 11 win team?
Was '06 Oklahoma also the undefeated #1 team in the country at a certain point?I write things on the Internet.

They played a legit schedule, @ Michigan, vs. Oregon State, then took out TCU, BYU, and now Alabama. There is no way the AP cannot reward them. In fact, I will not recognize the winner of the BCS Championship game as a MNC.Comment

Yes.
Had the Oregon fiasco not occurred, they would have been ranked in the same place as Alabama. As it is, they finished #11, and Alabama will finish 7-9.Was '06 Oklahoma also the undefeated #1 team in the country at a certain point?
Against the 1A opponents, Utah's opponents' win % is better by .003. Boise outscored their 1A opponents by 2 more points on the year.Nothing close to what Utah accomplished
They essentially have the exact same results.Last edited by Cebby; 01-03-2009, 12:05 AM.Comment

Re: Does Utah deserve a chance at a split MNC?
I think they deserve to play next week in a "plus three" against Florida/Oklahoma winner.
In reality, watching this team play the swarming defense that they did and move the ball easily against a so-called vaunted SEC team, hard not to reward them in some way.Comment

Re: Does Utah deserve a chance at a split MNC?
I've got a feeling voters will give Utah the "Aw, aren't they cute whoever they are" treatment instead of serious consideration. Utes win convincingly against a national power to go undefeated, but unfortunately this is the plateau for non-BCS teams.Comment

Re: Does Utah deserve a chance at a split MNC?
In the MWC, we have who I think is #1. TCU is a Top 10 team, BYU is borderline Top 25 team. They won a game @ Michigan, yes Michigan sucked but a win at the Big House means something. They beat Oregon State, who when fully healthy beat USC, that is the comparison, not the OSU team at the end of the season who was missing their best players vs. Oregon. That is as legit a schedule as Florida as Oklahoma played. This team has to be the National Champions.Comment

Re: Does Utah deserve a chance at a split MNC?
They deserve it because they were undefeated and beat a one loss team.
They beat a one loss BCS Conference team, that's what UF and OU are. They definitely deserve it.WUSTLComment

Re: Does Utah deserve a chance at a split MNC?
The 1A opponents' winning % and scoring margins:
Utah: .517 and 240 (including the bowl)
Florida: .621 and 369 (including SECCG)
OU: .636 and 328 (including BigXIICG)
Those are some pretty big gapsComment

Great stats. Please clarify, the scoring margin is points scored-points given up? Just wanted to make sure.Comment
