Top 5 Jumpshots That Really Need To Be Redone

    Big Names:

    1. Kobe
    2. Dirk
    3. Devin Harris
    4. D-Wade
    5. D. Rose

Kobe's shot is stale, the release is just way too binding/slow, and there's something funky going on with that left hand/arm. Kobe is usually close to upright/his body is extended on his shot, not all crouched over. Needs to be changed.

Dirk's shot is just kind of weird, it's got this one-handed follow through that makes it seem almost spastic because of how fast the animation is. Being a Mavs fan, I've watched enough of Dirk to know that his shot is messed up.

Devin Harris does not jump forward 3-4 feet every single time he shoots, especially on catch and shoots. Maybe seperate animations for off the dribble/catch and shoots could fix this. Structurally I haven't seen enough of Harris' jumpshot to determine whether it's completely right or not, but it seems off.

D-Wade's shot is similar to Kobe in that it has that really restricting left hand/arm. The elevation might be less than other shots too (seeing as they both date from 2k7), but the arc on both of their shots are extremely flat and the animations just feel weird/binding.

Rose's shot isn't as off as the others, but he has this pretty unique thing when he brings the ball up to shoot and when he shoots that differentiates it from other shots, it's hard to explain - there's kind of a hitch. His current shot in 2k9 isn't really getting that.

Random Minor Fixes Needed off the top of my head:
(O.J. Mayo has a nice follow through on his shot, the 2k9 animation is almost perfect except that it lacks that follow through)

what about lebron's shot? it's changed so much over the last 2 years that it no longer resembles the same animation very much.

          wilson chandler
          ray allen
          tim duncan
          lebron

            Definitely Stephen Jackson for sure.

I can't quite get his release down.

I had it down pat on 2K8.

agreed but one problem you think mayo shot is on point, lol i cant stand it. It's like he shoots with one hand.

I agree on the Harris shot. It looks stupid everytime he jumps forwards, i had to change it to a more generic shot, i couldn't take it anymore.

Ray Allen for sure, the motion is right on but it is WAY TOO SLOW. It was much better last year.

Paul Pierce - he has a very exaggerated follow through on his shots.

                      Kobe

                      L. barabosa - too slow

seems like most of the sig shots in this game are too slow.

Chris Paul - Talk about a poor shot animation, it is horrible and not really like his jumper.

Kobe and wade - They are kind of similar, they both a extremely slow and they both fade away for some reason.

Joe Johnson - It just doesn't feel right

Brandon Roy - Same just doesn't feel right to me

CP3's shot was mo-capped by himself, but it's just I think he was really lax during the whole process. Then again he doesn't get very much elevation on his shot and I actually think it's close to spot-on.

They should get the players to undertake some type of effort and actually elevate on their shorts.

iirc the shot type that Pierce has now was either mo-capped by Iguodala or Livingston, and that shot is probably the laziest shot I've ever seen. Works pretty well for Billups though, haha.

Ray Allen HAS to be fixed. Like has been said his motion is spot on, it's just in slow motion pretty much. Takes way too long to get off.
