Its ridiculous to me that a game, especially playoff games can be decided by a coin toss...

Yes, offense, defense and special teams are part of the game but you know damn well that by the end of the game the defense will ALWAYS be more tired than the offense.....This is a fundament part of football....Thats why teams run the ball to try to wear down the defense.....I've never heard an annoucer say, "this team shouldn't run the ball so much or the offense will be tired".......I've never heard it in my life....

So of course the freakin team who wins the toss has a great shot to get to the damn 33 yard line and win the game. Did the Lions play an OT game this year? Maybe they should've.

It sucks to see a great game come down to what effectively is a coin toss.....Just my opinion..

Maybe just have like a 5-7 min quarter? I dunno, anything would be better than what it currently is.

Hell do it like college but start off at your opponent's 40 or something, or at midfield.

I hate the system too. I'd much rather see them implement a system based off of the college rules.

Haha I actually meant start at YOUR own 40. For the pros I think that would be better.

That's fine. I just want the other team to get the ball. If you want to settle for a field goal, fine. Just remember that they could top it.

I agree. But I have no compassion for Dungy and the Colts since Dungy advocated for no changes to be made to the rule. Got what was comin to him

personally i would hate if they went to the college system.

if they were to make a change I would like them to simply just ensure that each team touches the ball once.

example: San Diego wins toss, goes down wins game with touchdown. They would then have to kick to Indy once. If they got held on their first drive, they punt to Indy and everything goes normally from there.

This would also make it so if a team gets down within field goal range on the first drive, they don't just run to the middle of the field and kick it on 2nd or 3rd down.

I would like to see college (and the NFL) to go with a system where each team gets to start at the 50 yard line and if they score a touchdown, they must go for the two point conversion.

The coin flip is ridiculous. Starting at the 35 yard line and not making teams go for two point conversion until the 3rd OT is pretty bad as well.

What do you guys think?

Why not 2 separate 2 minute drills from each team's 40 yard line.

I know it sounds like a mini-game for Madden or something, but it would add a lot more suspense and both teams would actually have to play as if it is their final possession.

I would like this in both pro and college.

XFL Rules.

Put the ball at mid field and have the 2 slowest players on the team run to the ball and whoever recovers it, gets ball first. Problem solved.
