40-man rosters?

Hey guys, I plan on using Knights roster to start a season mode, sim a year and play from there, the problem is some players from the real 40-man rosters are left out and another minor leaguer is in. Any way to make sure the right people are on the 40-man rosters?

Are you talking 08? There isn't a 40 man roster in 08. You realize, if you are using the 08 roster, it's almost a year old. If you are saying that the 08 roster doesn't have all the current teams 40 players (40 man roster) included, you are right. It would take some major editing and it's getting too close to the release of the new game to get involved in that.

Are you using it in franchise mode?
It sounds like you were doing it in season mode....they are set up for franchise.
I'm not sure what happens(as far as who the extra 15 guys on the inactive list will be) when you use them in season.

I am talking '08, in season mode(not franchise). I know that there aren't 40-man rosters, but when you start up a season there are 40 guys(25 active,15 inactive). My question was answered by you Jim when you said it would take alot of editing. I guess there is a set list of people who are on it. I'm not asking you to start a new roster project, just wondering if it was possible. Thanks anyway guys.:wink:

Ahhhh..

That's the problem...the season mode.
I'm not sure I could change the guys that SCEA has on those "40 man"(really the 25 man active and a 15 inactive) mode. The real guys anyway.
If I would have noted who they used that was fake...I could have changed those guys.
Sorry.
You could always use franchise mode and just set everything to CPU except management and then you would essentially just have "enhanced season" mode.

Yeah, we wanted a challenge. I like to be as realistic as possible but I let my brother take over as GM, I take on the role as manager. It's kinda interesting that way.

Just wanted to let you know I figured it out, all of the other players are automatically FA's so I just signed the right ones and released the rest.

You can also move all of the players you want on the AAA team. When you start your franchise it will keep these players and release all of the others.

But like Knight said. Start a franchise and turn everything to CPU except management and it is essentially a season with full minors.

What are the main differences between the Seaon Mode and the Franchise mode...and can you continue your season mode into many years like franchise?

The main difference is there are no financial things to worry about besides player contracts, the drawback is no minor leagues. You can continue into years just like franchise.

I apologize I meant to say start your season. I did this once and it managed to keep all of the players I wanted on the team so I didn't have to release and resign players.

08. I did it when the game came out. It was the original rosters, but it should work on these as well.
