The freezing is greatly reduced after the patch among other things. Connect your PS3 to the internet get the patch life will be good. The game rocks.

Its patched. Before I could even play it I was requested to download it. What next?

I have had very few freezing problems post patch with my PS3. Sorry to hear about yours. My system is to have five save files. I save files A & B right after a game then save frequently to file B during the week. On Friday or Saturday (after practice and negotiations are through) I save to a Gameday file. After the game I save to files C & D and then save fequently to file D during the week and saving to Gameday on Friday or Saturaday. The next week I go back to files A & B. That way if a file gets corrupted with freezes I only lose a week.

One other thing, when gameplanning I swithc back to the clipboard frequently if I don't see a play I want to practice. Don't go back to gameplan too fast or you might get the audio freeze. I wait for a minute to click off the clipboard before I press X again.

It sounds like you are not using the quick save feature rathe pausing the game and going to the save menu that way is that correct?

If so I will try saving that way instead of quick save. It usually freezes during quick save initializing not at actual save or my game save file would be corrupted and not load later. The other freeze is during play creator and testing the play after 2 or 3 different defenses/offensive plays and reentering the editor. Othe than those so far so good. I am addicted.

I quick save during the week. I do the pause save deal when I do the "gameday" save and save over files right after the game. I've not had a freeze during quick save and usually in play creator I only create one play at a time then get out.
Yesterday I had a freeze (1st in a long time) at the 2:00 warning at the end of the game. I had an emotional response the warning and steal plays trying to load at the same time.

I got this game for Christmas for Xbox 360. Downloaded the update when I popped it in. First season as Saints with Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister at RB only a couple of fumbles (5 total I think). Second season with Reggie and Deuce again led the league in fumbles but nothing I would consider astounding (14 fumbles). Third season with Reggie and rookie Ivan Resby at RB I'm an currently in game 4 and I already have 12 fumbles in 4 games! It seems to be getting to the ridicuous point. Anyone else still having fumbling issues after the update?

I keep an eye on fatigue so I know that isn't the problem since I use a 2 RB system. Resby's carrying skill is on par with Deuce's so shouldn't be a big difference there.

Post patch PS3 problems here. I bought this game and I love it so far. I had just got into the 06 version a couple of months ago for xbox and someone told me about the 09 version. I went out and shelled out the 500 bucks for the 160 GB PS3 and this is my only game that I play.

Yet, it freezes all the time and I got the patch when I first connected to the internet/loaded the game.

Usually my music stops all together and then shortly after the game freezes. I have to reset the system but the controller still works cuz I can push the playstation button to get to the main menu. As soon as that goes to the main menu I can hear all audio again and if I go back in the game the audio works.....until it freezes again. I have been using auto save recently because I've lost countless hours already. It is frustrating though and just wanted to know what I need to do so I can play my game in peace. I saw that people had this same issue.

Once again I want to say thank to you to the people that made this game cuz I love it. So good job game developers and make sure you tell the important people at EA that you have to keep making these games. Keep up the good work and please let me know if there has been progress on the PS3 post patch patch.

I know that i am roughly a decade late, and I am not sure if anyone will even read this but. I bought the game used a couple years ago and could not get the patch. Is there a place i can download the patch and apply it myself?

I bought a new XBox 360 console recently just to play Head Coach 09. The game automatically updated as soon as I pressed play so the update is still available somewhere.

Interesting, when I start up for PS3 it says it cannot connect to EA Servers. I am assuming I do not have the update, as it's never asked and I do not have access to the servers

Servers for this have been dead for a while.

Patches are not distributed through games' servers though and are still available long after the servers are shut down for a specific game.
