I like the graphics and want the game to be a success, but, the first photo above. Does it look like his body had been cut out and pasted. It just doesn't look like it belongs with the rest of the picture. His foot against the rubber, the shadow?

Just an observation and it will be nice to see some videos.

I love how his "doctored" head does not match the skin tone or texture of his arms. Real shots please 2K, thanks.

Tired of their early bullshots. Looks just like 2K8 with some doctoring and more blur, now that I see high res shots.

iv been amazed by there pictures since 2K7 and the game has delivered to be ****.

A few thoughts...

-The player model looks "simplified," but in a good way. I think it's using less polygons, likely to reduce the strain on the engine

-The crowd looks much better

-Coaches/dugout players look better

-Lighting looks better, though I'm worried about the self-shadowing

-Grass texture looks flat, but it's no longer that bright green from last year

-Face and flesh tone looks fantastic

Overall, I'm excited!

Self shadowing is still in... you can see a slight shadow on Lincecum's right leg. Team XBox has a huge, massive version of the screens.. and it's clear the shadow in the leg is indeed created by the other (leg).

Honestly do u ever have something positive to say? Why are u always so bitter? Every game company doctor their screens. Everytime i see u post it's something negative. The game does not look like 2k8. I'll be the first dude to say 2k8 was trash but that was 2k8 under kush. Kush never made a good game. This is 2k9 with VC.

These look good, BUT some of you are getting way ahead of yourselves. As for His face they had him in studio so obviously his face will look better than most players. Either way A screen does nothing Bring on the Videos!!! and even then gotta wait to see the framerate... lets hope VC pulls this one out

HOPE has two children, ANGER and COURAGE. Anger at the way things are and the Courage to help change them....

His comment on the screenshot is a valid one. Companies doctor them all the time. If he were in the EA NHL 09 section complaining then he would be out of place.

He has EARNED the right be here and be upset as have I and anyone else who feels they have spent their hard earned money on games made by a company that behaves like it knows they're "The only game in town"

lol...actually, he's (meaning Enigma) mostly (from his posts anyway) a Show player...spends much of his time here in that forum excited about that game. (as do I, to be honest...great game

Hahah. I'm not angry really. More a seething cauldron of rage and recrimination. I used to fight to everyone who looked at me the wrong way but then I found out I'm severely cross-eyed and had to spend 2 1/2 years tracking people down that I beat up in order to apologize.

As was posted before, I'm not sure how the 2k9 shot isn't real. The difference in all aspects of these shots are evident. From the Player Models, Graphics & Crowds. Could the screen be "Touched-Up" of course. All companies do that, but to say it's "Fake" is being a party pooper

I don't think having him in studio will make any difference as to the face models. They all have the face-scanning thing done, as both the show and 2K have done in years past (spring training last year for example there were articles of players getting full face scans done the day they had their MLB pressbox photos taken).

I loved the potential of 2K7 and tried to look past the issues with 2K8, but it was a hard thing to do. But looking at the feature list with 2K9 and now seeing just these two screens, at least there is legit hope now that they COULD deliver something pretty cool this year.

Here's what I don't understand - what is with the Show fans and the 2K fans going after each other? You go to the Show side of things and many simply mock anything 2K-related, no matter how promising some of these things sound. The Show has built up a great fan base, and they are incredibly loyal. And it is a great game. I was lucky enough to get a PS3 this year and the Show is great, and 09 looks even better. But it is as if some of these loyal Show fans go completely out of their way to try and trash whatever 2K has done or is about to do.

But this isn't like Carolina-Duke or Oklahoma-Texas, a hot-blooded NCAA rivalry. These are VIDEO GAMES. I know this is a video game site and we all have different passions in life. Everyone has their own opinions, and that's great. We all have personal preferences, in everything we buy or do for entertainment. But as consumers, we should all simply hope for the best out of both games, so we all can have a legit choice with our money this spring. 2K and SCEA releasing high-quality games are a great thing for ALL OF US. So let's see what happens. Nothing would make me, an end-user/baseball gamer, happier than having two great baseball choices to get into this March.

Your last sentence. Something everyone should preach. I'd like five great baseball games myself. We only have one right now, good luck on this one, hope it shines.
