Would you pay extra for a early release ?
With a month before the release of MLB THE SHOW 09 I often wondered if SCEA or any other game company offered a (FINISHED FINAL PRODUCT)exclusive early release would anyone pay double to get the FINISHED game a month early ?

Re: Would you pay extra for a early release ?
No way in world would I pay double for a game that I'll get eventually! You could use that other $60 to buy another PS3 game. One reason I HATE Microsoft, spend this yearly fee on Crapbox Live when that $50 could be going to a game to use on the life support System. But to get back on track, no, I wouldn't do it as I believe it would be a complete waste of money. Hypothetically speaking, what IF '09 was the worse baseball game ever? Now you're out of $120 bucks instead of $60. I'll take my chances with $60

Re: Would you pay extra for a early release ?
Thats what I love about PSN no fees or wasted $$$ plus I really dont play online but im able to get all access and everything updated free unlike xbox live , The Ps3 just does so much I even used it as my CPU when my laptop went down for a bit.
If it was offered I would do this for this game and if a someone wants a game bad enough early and is willing to pay double to get it as a company I would do it call it a Club Exclusive Offer . Its a win win at least for me as I only buy 4 to 6 sports games a year .
What do you say Kolbe/Russell do you take Preypal ? $120 right nowLast edited by dorismary; 01-24-2009, 06:52 AM.Comment

nope.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Would you pay extra for a early release ?
Its would be worth it for me... I am only going to be playing the Show for the next 6-8 months or more...
Why would I not want a head start on getting all my roster tweaks, sliders set and my franchise inline?
I am not knocking anyone's preference but if I can get it a month early? Hell f#$%in' yeah!Comment

Re: Would you pay extra for a early release ?
No, I wouldn't. Besides the fact that $120 for a single game seems ludicrous IMO (thanks Mike Tyson), I kind of like when the game is released as the Spring Training schedule is starting up. I like to try to play in sync with the real schedule throughout ST and the season. These past few years, I actually look at the game as sort of a companion/enhancement to go along with the real MLB season as it unfolds (might sound wacky, but it works for me).
I might pay extra for a few vintage stadium packs as DLC though (sorry, I still have a bitter taste in my mouth on this one)."There are only two seasons—winter and baseball." - Bill VeeckComment

Re: Would you pay extra for a early release ?
magoo, just out of curiosity...
if for instance u lived outside the US like me and had to import the game every year, meaning that would cost u over 100 dolars per game, would u still buy the game?
im just asking because u said that 120 dolars would be "ludicrous"...

Re: Would you pay extra for a early release ?
Why would anyone pay for an early release when it means less dev time? When we go to preview it next week the game will be done. That means something takes place for about a month that doesn't include development (approval by MLB, printing, etc.). I would never want a rushed game so that I could marvel at all that didn't get done or finished.Comment

Re: Would you pay extra for a early release ?
I was just talking about the retail price, importing the game is a whole different thing. I definitely think I would pay that much to import it if that was the only way I was going to be able to play the top MLB game on the market. You're talking to a guy who actually paid to import Phillips CD-i titles from England years ago when they were no longer available in the US (sad, but true). I just wouldn't pay that price to get the game early, especially if it meant cutting into the development time as Jim stated.Last edited by magoo1967; 01-24-2009, 11:46 AM."There are only two seasons—winter and baseball." - Bill VeeckComment
