Re: NCAA Football 10 Info
I did make the first "announcement," but it was just that NCAA also has the procedural awareness that Madden has. It looks like we are planning on releasing the next info next week, but I'm going to see if we can release something this week.Comment

Yes, we have a list of info we will release and dates when we can for each part. We are still working on this with marketing as it is just an early draft.

Re: NCAA Football 10 Info
I agree with the comment about MADDEN being the priority over NCAA. MADDEN gets the lead and all the glory and NCAA plays the roll of the ugly step sister. I would take NCAA over MADDEN 10 out of 10 times! Let's get some NCAA announcements ASAP!

Re: NCAA Football 10 Info
My guess would be:
Crabtree - 360
Harvin - PS3
Maclin - PS2
Wii - Who cares. Another mascot?Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Info
If you think this is the case then you haven't fully read this thread or Ian's thread. Everything stays the same except the defensive will now turn his head to make the pick.
This feature means absolutely nothing to me. It is a neat programming feature and that is it. NCAA has been complete crap since it has come over the NG consoles. Tell us something that is going to improve the AI and make this game better. A DB turning his head isn't going to make the game better it is just going to make it look better.Last edited by heavy_hitter; 02-11-2009, 09:28 AM.Comment

I agree that is the next logical step that needs to happen. Spin faster for harder tighter throws and slower for lobs and touch.Because I can!Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Info
I didn't know you could suck and still make the cover. How about no Buckeyes on the cover until the Big 10 wins a BCS game?
Covers (hopefully):
360 - Harvin
PS3 - Stafford
Wii - again, who cares?
PS2 - Crabtree
Xbox - Sanchez
Atari 2600 - Jim TresselLast edited by kcooper47; 02-11-2009, 02:30 PM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Info
I don't mean to flame, but wow ... PA is just cosmetic? (after reading your post earlier)
No, it doesn't drastically change gameplay. It's just cosmetics. He even said it won't affect the INTs/TDs/etc. He said that they players already "were" looking at the ball but they didn't have the tech to make them look.
It's complete garbage IMO. I can't believe they're actually going to sit there and say that the way the DBs have been reacting to balls has been fine, they just needed the tech to make them look at the ball ...
Look ... if a DB is looking towards the LOS, then he shouldn't be sticking to the WR like glue. The problem with the game is that you have hydra-headed DBs. One of them watches the WR and sticks with him accordingly, the other watches the QB. It's ridiculous becaue you have guys "theoretically" running full speed while looking behind them WHILE also covering the WR like they would be if they had their eyes fixed on them.
And let's not also forget the times when the game ridiculously pre-chooses and INT, and the ball goes way off course and hits a DB right in the chest.
And on the offensive side, rocket catching and "ice skating" (turbo + direction towards pass) ruins it.
With the out of the way ... I like NCAA 09 a lot. I'm still playing Online Dynasty now. But the passing game is complete garbage. I was SO EXCITED when I heard about the PA feature, but now that I've heard it changes nothing but cosmetics I'm ready to put my hand through a wall. Hell, if they're going to have "exclusive rights" (remember this is so they can make the game the best way possibe) they should at least take things from2K that 2K did far superior.
You know ... like offensive and defensive lines actually blocking and what-not, and not doing BS suction blocking? (dont even get me started on the clipping animation that never gets called in 09.) If there's anything more garbage than the passing game, it's the offensive-defensive line interaction. That, my friends, is a compost heap.
[/end rant]
I know it doesn't sound like it after that, but I'm pumped for 2010. Online Dynasty is amazing ... it's just some of the gameplay annoyances really bug me and give me sports gamer rage a lot. lolLast edited by MtneerManiac; 02-12-2009, 12:00 AM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Info
"Well, he already was seeing the ball. We just didn't have the tech to make the player look for the ball like we do now. That's kind of what I'm implying. This is just how I understand it... I'm sure I could be wrong! I'll defer to Ian on the effects of gameplay outside of anything cosmetic. As I said before, it will impact NCAA the same way it impacts Madden."
Now go to the Madden thread and read Ian's posts. Ian apparently works with the gameplay team (he worked on NCAA 09 gameplay from what I remember).
I'm not 100% sure how this feature will be implemented, but Ian's words point to gameplay changes based on PA. If it does end up purely cosmetic, then save me space on your soap box because I'll be pissed.Comment
