DEFINITELY! I don't know what took them so long.
In another year VC should have this series looking better than 2K7. And maybe playing as good as The Show, if that's possible.
Going to be a much tighter race in 2010 with Sony finally having some much needed competition.

I like what I see (still need to play the demo and get some OS impressions of the full game before I totally commit). I love the NBA series, so I'm glad to see that VC has definitely put its imprint on this game.

The hits to the outfield concern me.

        1. The double - Did the OF have the batter shaded to left? I couldn't tell. If they didn't, there's no way that the CF would be able to get to the ball before it hits the wall.

        2. The final out - Seems like it gets to Soriano real quickly and he's able to backhand it about waist-high.

Not so sure about those plays.

And, yes, I saw some hiccups, too.

Only concerns I had from the commentary:

          1. Thorne says, "Shumaker, here we go!" almost back-to-back when Shumaker (sp?) dives back into 1st base and when he tries to steal on the subsequent pitch.

          2. Phillips says (I'm paraphrasing), "The Cubs continue to draw well, even when they're not at home." Seems curiously out of place considering that the Cubs are at home.

I wanted to see what Pujols batting stance looks like. But I'm still not able to view this 2nd video in it's entirety for some reason. It just cuts off & goes back to the beginning after 1:30 into it. No problems with the other two videos though, so I don't get it.

When for six consecutive installments of the game you hear How Much Is That Doggy in the Window in the bottom of the ninth of a tight game, you know that it's time for the organ to go.

Also the Shumaker steal attempt itself looked odd. No slide. It just looked like he was rounding the base. No collision detection during the tag either. They just passed right through each other.

Four things put me at ease about the framerate we see in this video:

It's a Beta (unoptimized) copy

The vids are encoded at 30fps, the game is 60fps -- hence the lost frames

It already runs more smoothly than MLB 2K8

Visual Concepts has delivered, so far

Agree about the "Here we go!" line.

But, Steve already mentioned he forgot to push the button to slide; that was user error.

I figured it was probably user error. But, don't you normally stop at the base when you are stealing even if you don't slide?

I chalked that up to the user not knowing which controls to use to do that. I hope that's what it was.

I believe there is an option to make it user-controlled or automatic for sliding. I know it was in 2k8, they may or may not have tooken it out

He also mentioned he hit the analog stick and sent the runner to third.

Yes Wrigley uses an organ. I've heard a few Johnny Cash songs pre-game, it's magnificent!
