Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game Triple Play
The only game I've ever seen it in is power pros, but that's because they don't have these detailed textures, so loading a different jersey for every player on the field won't slow the game down FPS wise like it would in a game with detailed textures(like 2k and the show).Comment

nevermind that no other baseball game has ever done such a thing, but when it comes to 2k9, it'd better have!! and it better do your taxes too huh!?Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game Triple Play
Anybody hear the crowd, The commentary sounds like the best in a sport game (next-gen) The show is there but they have long detailed segments i think it repeats a little too much for the personel and time they have. Granite we have not heard 2k's but it sounds so naturalCatch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game Triple Play
Great vid and now I gotta say it, this game visual reminds me of one of the later iterations of the Hardball series. It looks like what Hardball would if it was made today.
I hope there's enough oldies here that know what game i'm talking about LOLMember of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Bringing back some memories now. I played Hardball to death, back in the day.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game Triple Play
I love the commentary and all but is it just me but where is the excitement? I mean turning a triple play is one of the most outstanding plays in sports and the commentary sounded like it was a routine play. Ive seen one vid where a player tags at third and the outfielder makes the throw to the plate and the commentary was the least bit excited about the play.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game Triple Play
Man oh man, this game is going to be so much fun. I don't think it's too early to say that it has the best presentation in any game period. Gary Thorne is outstanding, the crowd is into it. 2k8 crowds were almost dead. The shadows on the field, the amazing view, the animations, I want this game now.Last edited by Eddie1967; 02-15-2009, 10:55 AM.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

So is it safe to say the dynamic lighting isn't at the level of MLB2k7? It doesn't look like it is to me.
This game looks like it can have some great things going on. Ultimately tho, this is 2009 and we are just getting a game the mimics the fielding and hitting systems of MVP05 and we still aren't sure if they will be as good as advertised.
We'll see I hope it lives up to some expectations.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game Triple Play
I don't think you understand his point. One of the big improvements of 2K's game is the presentation. A large component of presentation is crowd reactions. Personally, it has been a long time coming. The developers have said that crowds react realistically (get louder during clutch situations, appropriate reactions to homeruns and big hits, etc.) and if we are to believe that, then it would only make sense that we would see more than lukewarm applause for a TRIPLE PLAY.
Watching the videos, this is probably my main gripe with what I've seen. The crowds LOOK wonderful, but I don't feel I've heard appropriate reactions to homeruns and big plays.
Sorry. I see he was talking about the commentary, but my point still stands. Commentary and crowds need more excitement when it's called for.Last edited by BadassBookworm; 02-15-2009, 11:34 AM.Comment

- are we watching the same clip? the crowd got a little louder with applause, and the commentary flowed RIGHT WITH the triple play as it was happening, it didn't even skip a beat, and you can even hear his voice go up as he said "a triple play!!"I don't think you understand his point. so again...what EXACTLY were you hoping to hear? were you wanting to hear his voice crack from excitement? do you want to hear the commentators clap? I seriously would like to know.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game Triple Play
I agree, the crowds sounds are much improved compared to last year. They got louder as the video went on. No game is perfect but the atmosphere in this game looks and sounds really good.- are we watching the same clip? the crowd got a little louder with applause, and the commentary flowed RIGHT WITH the triple play as it was happening, it didn't even skip a beat, and you can even hear his voice go up as he said "a triple play!!"
