Hey guys im new here im sure there have been alot of posts about this but i will go ahead and tell my experience with the franchise mode. OK im the Cardinals I made it through my first season with no freezes I was just 3-13 and got a good QB with the number 2 pick in the draft and in the draft is when it first froze up on me. I made it through the draft and offseason and then made it through the first 3 games of my second season where I was 3-0 and then it froze again in my fourth game. I would hate to have to go back to boring *** madden but this freezing stuff really ticks me off. Is there any way to be able to play the franchise on here without freezing????

I know you said you are new, but please don't double-post. Most of us read all the threads and I already commented on this in another thread.
Most of the franchises are not stable beyond one year. Puja's will be (close to being released) and there may be one other (author escapes me), but that is about it. -

So you mean to tell me there is no way around this???? I've seen some posts saying if you create a new playbook or something then it might work I guess I will try that. But I had this game a few years ago and I got through several seasons without many freezes I had a couple here and there but I made it through like 7 seasons in one franchise. I'll give this franchise another try hopefully it doesen't freeze again but no wonder this game was only $20, it sucks that the franchise will just freeze all the timeComment

It doesn't freeze like that with the original rosters and such from when the game came out, it's freezing because so much is being changed in the game, most of it by an outside editor. Editing rosters, schedules, and such isn't as simple as plugging all the data in like you edit a player in-game. Puja, Finn, and the others are doing things that the game's code was never intended to allow, and of course there's going to be issues.
Modding, and playing those mods takes patience, and if people can't accept that fact, then yes, they probably should go back to Madden. JMO.Comment

Im just playing the regular PS2 version of this game im using the original Arizona Cardinals roster with a few rookies and some small free agents signed here and there. I had a freeze up in the draft and just now had a freeze up on week 5 of my second seasonComment

And to Danny I couldn't find that Carlos Joseph player you were talking about he wasn't in the free agent pool nor on a team. So you guys mean to tell me that on the original version of this game its not supposed to freeze??? ha ha that sucks for me then huh im using the old original stuff and still can't get it to work right. But im about to try to play the game over again where it froze and see what happensComment

I just started playing my Xbox copy again after some time away from it, and started experiencing way more freezing than ever before even with the original rosters. Took out the copy of 2K5 and placed in another and it's working great. I'm pretty sure my original copy of 2k5 has finally started to bite the dust, which is to be expected after hundreds of hours of play. Even though we're on different systems, I'd advise you to try another copy of the game and see if that helps. Sometimes discs have some wear and tear, especially if you bought the game used or have had the game since release. There really shouldn't be much freezing if you're using the original rosters. Try replacing your copy with a very clean one if you can...luckily 2k5 is one of the biggest bargains you can find anywhere.XBL Gamertag- thejackal25Comment

True but I told him to test out the file at his friend's first because it may just be the saved file and NOT the disc because he said he started another franchise and simulated and hasnt had any problems.Comment

OK guys I haven't posted in a while but I had to get rid of my first copy of 2K5 cause I had three freezes in my second franchise. Well I just brought the game new and played a game yesterday with no freeze but today I was playing and then boom freeze again. This is a BRAND NEW copy of the game just opened yesterday, this is the only one of my games on PS2 that freezes. I guess i'll just have to retire from this gameComment
