I have to disagree with most of this. Don't forget that most pitchers were good hitters in college or whatever the last amateur level they played was. That shouldn't entitle them to good ratings of any sort, but I think that starting with '0' is too harsh.
As far as I can recall, AL pitchers are hitting around .180 in interleague play. That seems a bit higher than 0 ratings would grant.
