    2009 Colorado Rockies

Might as well start this up with no playoff football.

We lost Holliday and Taveras, possibly Fuentes in the near future. The outfield will be interesting in how it shakes itself out. I believe Dexter Fowler will play center and Spilborgh to play left? How about Helton coming back, moving Atkins back to 3rd and potentially Ian Stewart finds his new home at 2nd.

Some coaching changes made, one familiar face along with them.

Hoping Jeff Francis is coming back 100% healthy and ready to do the grind all season long.

Any thoughts or predictions for this upcoming season?

While I may be Dodgers fan, I hope the Rockies can bounce back after a tough season. I am just wondering who will step up now that Holliday is gone. Atkins? Tulowitzki? Hopefully you guys can bounce back and we will have a good NL West race without the DBags, Mothers, and Giants.

So weird seeing him in the A's hat.

As for 'replacing' his bat, imo its Atkins leading the pack. Following behind him I would place Tulowiztki and Ian Stewart.

Our pitching staff again this year will be the wildcard for the team. Bullpen will be interesting if Fuentes leaves and we're with Buchholz and Corpas. Buchholz started to unravel a little bit at the end.

Closer role now lies on Corpas and Buchholz. Fuentes signed with the Angels

Jeff Francis still struggling with his shoulder pain and might have surgery to figure out whats wrong. Talk is that he has a good chance of missing this season

Didn't the A's trade Carlos Gonzalez to the Rockies? I'd believe he'd be the opening day starter in CF since he supposedly has so much potential

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Dont think he'd be the starter with Hurdle running the show. He'll start someone that's been with the team and put in the time who he believes earned it. Spilborghs will likely get the nod

Carlos Gonzalez wont just get the spot just like that, guy has to earn it.

Looks like I made the right call for opening day. Atleast they can use today as motivation to show that they can handle Webb. I missed most of the game (turned it on at the 6th). Was it 8 or 9 home runs between the two teams?

                    Re: 2009 Colorado Rockies

Couple of thoughts (Top of the 8th right now)

Ubaldo has had a nice showing for his first appearance. He got out of his jams that I don't think would have happened last year. He's getting men on base but getting out of it with a single pitch. His location issues seem to be gone, for now atleast.

Dexter Fowler added some muscle but still can add alot more to his frame. Not sure we want this if it hampers his fielding range by a fair margin.

Tulowitzki has some more patience this time around. On Opening Day, the AB's I saw he wasn't chasing chest high fast balls. He's getting alot of good looks with his ABs, regardless of getting thrown out- he's watching the ball and picking his spots.

Very disappointing game yesterday againt Phillies. Their bullpen killed us. Not to mention our bullpen killed us as well.

I have the same issue in MLB The Show- starters put in great innings, then it collapses as soon as I dip into the relief pitching.

Ian Stewart looks so uncomfortable in the outfield, it makes me cringe seeing him field a flyball.. I just want to go out there, grab his glove and say "let me do it"

Wow...we're heading right to bottom....again. Another year, another roster filled with pitching that can't get the job done. It's still early, so I have hope they can get things ironed out, but man it's not looking good.

I wonder if Bob Apodaca has tried to get Jimenez to take a couple MPH off and throw a bit more accurate? Every time they talk about what a blazing fastball he has, but no control, I think of Koufax....he was the same way until he stopped trying to throw so hard.

Morales starts Tues. Hoping he has a good outing. We need someone to count on....

Pitching sucks, that's all I can really say.

Rockies got their first win by 1 run.. the last team to do so in the MLB.
