    Whoa....
    That's not right.
I don't feel that way and there is NO WAY that anyone has been more "hardcore" than I when it comes to baseball.

Just because you feel that way doesn't make it so. Sorry.
I'm REALLY tired of people doing this....it's getting old.

I find it hilarious people saying 'Will Mlb 09 The Show' be better than MVP 05?' well considering 08 blew it out of the water I think its safe to say that 09 will be better.
Methinks people are wearing rose tinted spectacles when remembering MVP 05, it was a good game although i prefered 06 but Mlb 08 The Show(Along with COD4)was the best/most addictive game I've ever played.
Judging by the 09 demo they have improved in every aspect so I think its safe to say that 09 will be immense.
I couldn't care less about MLB 2k9 not only was 2k8 unplayable for PS3(Yeah I don't know why I bought it either)but 2k Sports general attitude to their customers stinks, their after purchase attention is a disgrace(I'm still waiting on a Ps3 patch for 2k8)and the fact they havn't got a demo out yet says it all.
Honestly last years the show game was the first I've ever bought and it was a revelation...I had fell out with baseball and hadn't bought a game for years but The show reignited my passion for the game it was THAT good(Something the NFL shud think about when renewing their exclusive license ...especially considering how much MLB stuff I bought last year all because of The Show)AND the fact that The Show had 'WEEKLY' roster updates was unheard of for me.
They do an outstanding job long may it continue.
All we need now is a team with their passion working on an NFL and NBA game(I'm happy with NHL 09 how it is).

I am probably in the minority but I had an incredibly hard time hiitting on MVP. Loved it graphicly and the pitching windups were great but not being able to hit ruined it for me. Not blaming the game but I could not hit. Love The Show but pound for pound pure baseball sim High Heat was the best. But The Show may catch it this year.

I can't quote this enough. HH2003 to this day is still my favorite baseball game of all time and I have probably logged more than 1000 games played in that game. Microsoft bought the source code to it when 3DO went bankrupt and I really wish they would do something with it.

They are, its in a box holding up a desk somewhere.

I was surprised they never did anything with it.

Me to. When I read the news that they had bought the HH code I was stoked thinking that they woud put out a killer game. But they did not even try.

                I think I skipped 2003, I loved 2002 though. Spreadsheet style stats and 'drag/drop' rosters...MMMMMM.

2004 sucked though, since it was simply a port of the console version and everything had to be done with the joystick, no mounse support

I was also a bit surprised by M$'s decision to not do anything with the code...I guess they just decided to bury it? Too late now, unless they wanted to make a 360 exclusive, besides that HH code is probably quite 'dated' by now anyways.

                  Oh no...the dreaded mounse support.

                  I hated 2004. That's when HH lost it's appeal.
It probably had the most to do with losing manage only mode

Ha, I was curious to see if anyone would pick up on that. Leave it to Knight...you don't miss much do you, especially for an old guy

That's exactly where HH lost it's appeal. The spreadsheet style, drag and drop stuff in 2002 was awesome.

I really don't understand all the high praise for the mvp series. But I guess we all have our own opinions and that's what makes a horse race. Now here is mine. I played mvp for alot of years, but I never liked the feel of the game at all, it didn't play true, (IMO) I will go further and say that just about all of EA's sport titles are lacking, up to and including Madden which is their over hyped cash cow. But I digress. . . .
