To be fair, Ortiz's home run didn't bother me when it bothered everyone else.

        - why are you talking about previous installments of the game though? CLEARLY and quite VISIBLY this is not the same as 2k6, 2k7, or 2k8. and again - a homerun hitter, hitting a ball off the end of the bat for a homerun is not that shocking. well...maybe to people with THE SHOW in their avatar.

        - again, why are you acting like nick markakis has juan pierre type power...and this didn't really look like a ball to me, looked like a fastball low and away for a strike...he nailed it over the fence. you are acting like he pulled it down the right field line for a double.

        - WHAT!?!? you're talking about video game coding thats about 10 years or more down the line...that's like when I play NBA 2k9 and Ray allen does a reverse jam on 3 guys. can he do that in real life? hell no! but do I expect for developers to put that type of A.I. in a game that tells the CPU "hey, this guy can DUNK but he can't dunk on 3 guys" no, not really. I'm sure that technology is on its way but it isn't here yet.

but basically, now we are critiquing whether or not ONE guy who hits homeruns, hits them THE SAME DISTANCE as another homerun hitter!?

some of these critisisms are just getting down right cartoonish.

I was unbothered. Papi is one player who is definately legit. H e could hit a hr with a toothbrush and it would be realistic in this game for all I care.

Seriously though if you look at the ortiz video and watch the kirk gibson hr in real life it's exactly the same thing. There is no reason why Ortiz couldnt do that. He normally doesnt hit hrs off hte end of the bat and pull them like that but still.

I understand the concern about the HR because until we play the game, all we have to go by is history and that's not too promising in this regard...lol. It's perfectly plausible, given the game code, while tweaked, has not been changed at it's base (from what the developers have said...I claim no personal knowledge of such things...lol).

Obviously, it's a different developer so the chance is there that it's changed. I don't personally have a problem with it being possible to happen as long as it's not like it was in previous installments. We'll see for sure soon enough.

EDIT: To add, I'm actually on the opposite side of this concern/curiousity (whatever you want to call it) than Blzer, for example. I was more bugged by the Ortiz's shot (based on the previous problems in the series) than Markakis. At least he sort of went with the pitch. Ortiz mostly pulled the outside and low pitch. To each his own though.

oh quit it. He wasn't trolling and stop acting as if you're the spokesperson for the game. He was talking about his opinions on THE GAME and nothing more.

See, that's the point of posting videos, to get opinions on what he/she saw and felt from that video. At no point was any comparison made towards any other game.

                Relax.

It seems that the video boards in the Rogers Centre outfield walls aren't working...anyone else notice this? I remember seeing screenshots of the Dodgers Stadium outfield wall LED's working, so it's kinda weird Rogers doesn't have them working.

Maybe it needs to be a franchise game?

I believe the scoreboard don't work this year. At least that is what one of them said. I think.

One of the producers said out of town scoreboards don't work. Also he said something about they show player stats instead of scores.

Q: my question is will the scoreboards in the stadiums be updated
                          through the game
A: The out of town scoreboards do not update, unfortunately. We do have some player information up at times. Live scoreboards is something we all have wanted for a long time but it is really difficult to do. Keep your fingers crossed.

ya the out of town score boards look odd with no scores on them. They could have at least put random scores on them instead of being blank
