Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game
The one thing that I am very happy to see, and this video shows it off quite well, is that the size of the field in relation to the size of the players seems to have been scaled a bit more properly than 2k's previous attempts.
One of my gripes last year was that it was next to impossible to get anything other than a screamer between the infielders, and even then, a lot of those missles were stabbed on the diving attempts. It look like this year we may get to see more balls that would normally find their way through the infield, actually get through.
I also have seen some balls find the gap in the outfield, and again, those outfielders covered a lot of fround last year, not only because they were super-fast, but because they were just too big. It was like having three 10 foot tall outfielders that ran a 4.15 forty yard dash out there.
Might be good news.

Very nice hit variations with a little of everything and like the previous poster mentioned, the gap shots to the outfield do look and feel more like on TV with the obvious relation to where the outfielders are positioned.

1. I thought the flux capacitor was a component of time travel...not an actual time machine?
2. If your imagining time travel for this, why not travel to the release date instead of the day before?
Just wondering
EDIT: Saw you corrected for #1...lol.Comment

Very nice.. As for Lighting Transition. It's there. It may not be as strong as 2k7 but it's there. Look @ the video from the 45 second mark & on. Look @ the left, there's a building & then a skyscraper you can see clouds in between them moving across as the innings go on.
Man this is gonna be a long week....Last edited by bigfnjoe96; 02-23-2009, 09:26 AM.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game
#2 i'll have to think about but yeah it sounded better the 2nd time. I figure stores would have it the day before and id just rob them and then if i get caught just go back in time and fix it? then again if i had a time machine i could just do that now and go to steves house or something.
So anyway...All Star Game...lol...didn't look too bad overallComment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: All Star Game
Great job displaying the hit variety. This put away a lot of the "all flyballs all day long" fear. Nice to see a ball hit between the SS and second base make it through the IF. This hit didn't exist last year. Nice to see balls hit to the gaps and towards the lines that the OF wasn't even close to making a play on. Last year, those hits would have been outs.
I like the underhand toss from the second baseman to first on the very last play.
A few questions that I wasn't paying enough attention to:
1) Are there expanded rosters for the game?
2) (Probably depends on #1) Does the AI manage the All Star game different than a regular season game? Pitchers going 1-2 innings, using a lot of bench players?Comment
