Do people realise that when pitching, they bigger the circle, the better the pitch? Not letting it get smaller? There was confusion about this on the 2k boards, and it was causing some people wondering why they gave up HR's and the CPU did not take many strikes.

The first motion it gets bigger, then, the second, do not let it get to small or the quality and power get worse.

I've yet to play the demo, but I am looking forward to trying it later today/tonight. I've noticed some posts about hitting being too easy. I imagine when the retail releases there will be a pitch speed slider at the very least and that should hopefully make things more difficult.

I'm hoping they kept a lot of the sliders from last year because once you tinkered with strike/ball frequencies not everything was down the pipe and the cpu didn't swing at everything in the zone either. We'll see.

I can remember when 2k7 came out it was a huge pick up from all the problems 2k6 had. Alot was impressed just by the demo but the game played 95% better than the demo did. DEMO'S are not the actual game and obviously theres alot of things you can fix with SETTINGS/SLIDERS to balance out the gameplay. My point is that theres to much bashing over a DEMO when its not the actual game. The DEMO is nowhere perfect. I talk to christian from 2ksports on a daily basis and have been for the past year and I already knew what to expect with this DEMO. Again the demo is simply what it is a DEMO.

Exactly, there was a big difference in the 2k7 demo and final game. Also, the final version will have sliders and more options.

People are still allowed to dislike it, it's not an agenda. I've seen pretty fair impressions so far, I highly doubt that anyone really feels the need to make fake impressions to hurt the game.

It's a demo, some like it, some won't, not much more than that. No reason to go off the deep end about it. Take a deep breath and relax.

              My impressions:

              The Good
              - Gameplay. I love it. Really love it. The swing stick (which I HATED before) feels great and the pitching feels great. Really great. The fielding controls were good but not great. Overall the game felt organic - not scripted. Yippie.
              - The animations are great.
              - The atmosphere. Very next gen. Announcing, transition scenes, crowd...all good.
              - Smooth as silk. No hiccups. No slowdown. No issue.

              The Bad
              - Graphics. I know this is a matter of taste, but these graphics well "nice" just are not up to par with 2K7. And to me that should be the standard. It's hard for me to put aside the fact that 2 years later the game looks worse - not better. It's MUCH better than 2K8...but still - I just don't like it.
              - The fielding controls at time are quirky..in particular how/when you switch to a different player on the field. I also do not like the fielding camera. It's just too far up for me and I feel a little bit removed from the action.

              The Ugly
              - Player faces. This is part of my gripe with the Graphics. I just don't like em and the faces to me look particularly bad.
              - The ivy on the back wall of the stadium...it looks painted on. Bleh!

If I could ignore the graphics whore on the inside - I must say this is a FINE game. 360 only people should breath a sigh of relief. Baseball on the 360 is back.

I also noticed that u when throwing the baseball towards a base u can use the joy stick or the face buttons(very similar to mvp baseball); Too be fair and honest this game is a great improvement from 2k8 ( o yea u still can use the 3 step process of pitching from 2k8 for those who like challenges like myself), I love the demo, and soxfan probably has the best review out of everyone here (but come on man ads as neegative.....who cares lol!). But yea some certain animations and the fielding seem quite flawed

Fair enough, but if you been on the internet awhile, you know some users Do have agendas against certain games, this is quite common, but, I digress. Some had their minds made up long ago despite the final product.

After three games, I haven't seen a homerun yet, so I'm glad it doesn't seem to be the homerun fest that other 2K games have been. Hitting does seem a bit too easy, but we'll be able to adjust the difficulty sliders in the full version, so I'm looking forward to that.

Can someone elaborate on the computer swinging at pitches in the zone so I don't have to go through all the pages?

So far this demo is pretty fun. Hitting variety while not awesome, it's pretty decent. Pitching is too slow , and the cpu does take too many swings at strikes but pitching is well-done.

Animations are hit and miss but also passable. Graphics and real-time are really good.

Everything looks to be good except the gameplay which to me is incomplete because there are no options to fiddle with.

If we can somehow make the cpu hitters behave realistically and user pitching is difficult enough that we will issue walks....I really do think this game will be a winner in all facets this year and will be a stiff challenge to the show in years to come.

Let's hope the final version with sliders will take care of these 2 problems I mentioned....

This is just so funny. If he came to the 2k board and read all the "positive" reviews and comments and bought the game and it sucked. He would come here and complain and you would say the same thing. He's reading and giving his impressions so others can benefit yet you're the one bashing him for it. What's the point of pointing out his ignorance when you show you have just as much if not more byonly caring about your point of view and completely dismissing what he;s saying as utter BS?

But this is the DEMO impressions thread. We're supposed to give our impressions based on the demo. If VC decided to release a demo based on a very early, buggy build, why shouldn't we be truthful about it? This is what they gave us and this is what we'll comment on. I find it fun but there are many many lil, and some not so lil, things that need to be fixed...

A question for those who have logged some time with the demo:

When you poorly execute a pitch aimed near the edge of the strike zone, does it result in a ball or a grooved strike (or a mix of both)? In other words, are 'meatballs' truly gone, or simply not a 'feature' anymore? Or to put it yet another way, is it possible to throw a ball while aiming in & around the strike zone? I live on the corners when I pitch and would love to see more of my misses turn into balls so I could actually walk people...
