My first game ended in a 4-4 tie with 6 hits for each team, and I struck out 3 batters. I had one double, but there should have been another but I didn't figure out the base running controls until later. Only big thing that concerned me was every run I scored was with a HR, and there were 5 in the game total. It looked pretty good and the presentation was excellent. Player faces were hit and miss, some looked great, other not so much. I did think the fielding was a little jerky and the players moved too fast. If I was a xbox gamer only, I would pick this up. Looks like 2k really stepped up this year and put out a good effort.

Don't worry about the home runs. I am scoring and seeing runs scored with doubles and singles. I am pretty sure it was just a one time thing.

I would think the HR's can either be lessened by a higher difficulty level or slider work.

We will probably have to wait until the final release to find out if that is indeed the case.

I think I remember this being discussed earlier in the day, but I can't find the comments now. So I apologize if this is a dumb question.

I can find the demo in the marketplace, but when I select it, the "download demo" box is grayed out, and a dialog box next to it says "this feature is temporarily unavailable". Then if I select " all files" I can select the demo, but I immediately get an error message. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks in advance.

Some of the player animations look very stiff and unrealistic.

Everyone has realized by now that this games tv style presentation will rival any next gen sports title, however, has anyone noticed that even with the good quality of the presentation, that the replay feature is not active for the demo, meaning that zoomed in replay cut scenes are not even being shown yet along with in between inning highlights which were confirmed to be in the final retail version by devs and people who have beta copies.

I am pointing this out b/c the I really think that the retail version of the game will realy blow people away.

I think we should all just forget this impression thread ever happened and wait for the full game. I'm still enjoying the demo to be honest. I have tried to go into it with an open mind, and there are certain things I still think the game is lacking nad leaves certain things to be desired as far as wow factor and just overall competitive play and that feeling of really dueling on the mound and at the plate. But it is on pro. Crank this up a few notches and mess with some sliders and this could should be pretty sweet. We know this game is going to have a ton of modes and options so let's just wait and see. I was reading impressions over at 2k and it seems to me like the overall consensus is that the game is a step up and pretty promising.

i think also that the level or frequency of HR's hit in the demo compared to what you can see in the retail version will change if you use the zone/cursor hitting option as it wont be just timing the swing you also have to have a good location on it to get a good bang

well gotta say, i like what im seeing so far. In 4 games ive played, the computer has attempted 2 stolen bases, ran a suicide squeeze, and taken pitches. I was also able to actually draw a few walks. So far its looking promising

I'm thinking that the HR fest that some users are seeing will also be able to be fixed with Difficulty increases/Slider Adjustments.

I was worried about them after a couple games, but then I played a couple more and was getting base hit single and doubles consistently.

Has anyone mastered the pitching circle thingy yet? It's not very well explained but i seem to be getting the best results when I change direction when maxed out and release when the two circles inside one another are about the same size? Am I right or am I off here?

From what I understand, you want the yellow to be completely full when you release the pitch. I have even got it to fill up red and say MAX over it a few times. If its not full the location will end up further than where you set it.
