FIFA 09 Ultimate Team: Producer Blog #2

We have just posted FIFA 09 Ultimate Team: Producer Blog #2. This week, Producer Matt Prior, talks about the types of cards that will be available.

"One of the most interesting facets of FIFA 09 Ultimate Team is all the different types of cards available to manage your fantasy team. There are about 30 different categories. Below, I have listed some of the main categories with a brief look at their role in the game.

Players – The backbone of the game. Each player has a unique set of attributes based on the real world player. These attributes combine to give the player an overall rating. The overall rating is used to value the player as either a Bronze, Silver or Gold card. There are over 4000 player cards in the game."

This game just gets deeper and deeper. This add-on will lead to even more
games played. Maybe Madden can add this extended gameplay option as well?

I wrote an article for OS a while back that suggested more games use this mode. I loved it in UEFA 2006-07 (I think that was the year). You're rights, this would rock in Madden or a baseball game.

The only bad part for me is I'm not nearly as familiar with soccer names as the other sports' players.

Does this mean if we get a training ground card we can actually practice in something other than BAP cam? This would be great as I play with the standard tele cam and have a hard time translating skill moves from the arena to the actual game.

I passed on UEFA 2006-07, had no idea there was an extra mode, after the fact. Wow, a baseball game would truly be juiced so to speak! How bout
          them special cards?

I imagine there is no restriction on camera usage. I use Tele as well.
