Route running prototype based on Jerry Rice Youtube vid

Originally I was just going to put this in the new blog post thread, but this is kinda cool IMO so I figured I'd start a new one.

Someone posted the Jerry Rice route running video in the other thread where he just schools some young kid trying to cover him with a double move. Here's that video:

I thought it'd be cool to showcase our version of that as well. We have a very similar double move compared to the one Jerry ran (though I don't know if we'll ever get them as clean as his unless he captures them), and as I mentioned in the blog, we've re-worked our man coverage to be much more animation based so I had a reaction animation like that as well. This type of situation that Jerry put on that poor kid should happen in Madden for a big difference in Route Running vs. Man Coverage ratings, so I figured I'd show what it will look like. Just for fun, I tried to emulate the camera work too (that's what that big square in the middle is...the target point).

It's definitely not exact, but it's pretty close. Hope you dig it

Lol this is sweet because I've watched this video very often. As a matter of fact I constantly search for good route running on youtube, if interested Mr. Cummings I have about 20 videos on youtube channel dedicated to route running, either drills, work outs, or just game tape. Great to know were looking at the same stuff here though if you dont want the link to my chanel

that was awesome. loved how the DB reacts with the power turn to try to recover. i play WR myself currently and the footwork on that route is pretty good not bad at all. The only suggestion i have with some of these routes i've seen so far is that the WR's arm motion should be alot tighter.

A thing of beauty...a thing of absolute beauty.

When players at the individual positions move realistically the whole play looks and feels like a real NFL game.

My favorite part is when the WR puts his foot in the ground to plant and cut going the opposite direction...that animation is just sweet.

Same here, I also play receiver/tight end thats why having these new routes and bump coverage and everything is soooo sweet to me

Ian maybe you can mo-cap this next year. This is a 4D technique for DBs. which more and more programs are teaching.

Ian thats cool and its good to add as much realism as you can muster into the game I like everything your doing Big Ian man why wasn't you on this team a long time ago,Can you imagine were we would be right now?Keep doing what your doing homie because greatness is you. Ian If you dont mind and I know you here alot about this game,But can you please clear one thing up for me and thats did you redo the injuries in the game by making them more realisc?
