One of the things that has bugged me about 2K's baseball games in the past is their inability to get the correct hats paired with the correct uniforms. They are the only one who can make a game and have the MLB license, it couldn't take much time to get the hats right! Now, I fully expect people to jump on me about how trivial this is, but give me a break. I have seen the A's wear the incorrect hat with their black alternates, which they wear at home, and then they put the black hat with the green alternates, which they only wear on the road. Just from a color scheme, the visual doesn't look right.

Also, the batting helmets have been off for a while as well, and are still incorrect in the 2K9 version. Oakland wears batting helmets on the road that mirror their hat (green with the yellow "A's" logo), yet there has always been in this video game a green helmet with white logo. The Cubs wear helmets on the road which also mirror their road cap (blue with the red bill), and in the came always wear the home helmet.

Small bones to pick, but still, with an exclusive license, get it right! This isn't college with 119 teams, there are 30!

I'm not normally one to complain about such things, but as soon as I saw that the Jays had gray batting helmets, I was transported back to 2004, and not in a good way. I don't think the Jays EVER used gray batting helmets.

That's another one, I saw that one last year. The Astros also have gray batting helmets for some reason. I actually like the gameplay for the 2K9 so far, and have tweaked some sliders to my liking. I hate complaining, but this seems like too big of an issue for a company with exclusive licenses.

I think I got yall beat...The Mets alternate road jersey..Why do they have the blue fitted with a black jersey? come on 2K, how hard is it to put these things together...I guess I'll be playing 2K7 again this year. It's funny how The Show doesn't have the license but they manage to put the correct Mets jersey in their game

Yeah, its just common sense. That is how the A's black jerseys are, with green and yellow hats, and the green and gold jersey with the black hat, meant specifically for the black jerseys.

It's good to find others who get annoyed about this! For some reason, I just find it inexcusable to NOT have accurate uniforms in the game. How hard can it be? Do your research, then make everything the correct color, etc. I've never played a 2k game that had correct uniforms- and most of the errors are not little minor ones either. It's as if they just try to "get it close". As long as the jerseys have the team name, they think it's good enough.

The Rangers have worn a blue jersey with their gray road pants since 2001.... 2K still hasn't included it! They've got it paired with white pants, so how hard would it be to take the same top, and pair it with gray pants?! What's worse- they have a RED hat paired with the blue jersey at home. That's just plain carelessness. Fonts are all screwed up, stripes on the pants are not correct..... just annoying. Trivial?? Yes. An example of 2K's attention to detail (or lack thereof) YES.

the phillies wear a blue batting helmet with a red bill in the game with the alternate jerseys. They only wear those hats not batting helmets. Can't they fix all of this through a roster update? They fixed a couple of unis/hats already. Anyone fill them in on this?

I have not even seen the Mets correct helmets with the black and blue blend. The only one that is correct is the home pins with the all blue...and the logo is wrong on that one. And as far as the show goes, Ill still take the wrong helmets in 2K over the 'hey I guess I have to play todays game in a uni from the dark ages because I dont even have the option to choose!" approach. I mean they go to the trouble of doing all those uniforms and somehow leave out the ability to choose . Stupid.

I am not usually one to complain about such things either, which is why I have yet to post about the A's uniforms this year. But when they where there green jersey's in the game they wear the black hats and the green hats when they wear the black jersey's. It looks so stupid I no longer really ever use them in my franchise, yet usually love to use the green jersey's in the games in past versions.

I would think they could easily fix this in the living rosters since people said they fixed the Yankees shoes and the Royals as well. Not sure how this mistake is even made, but I hope it does get fixed.

I messaged the 2k mod Ron, and several others informed him of uni issues. He was nice and replied back with an explanation of what COULD be changed via a roster update, and what COULDN'T be changed. I really didn't understand why some things could be corrected (like colors/adding removing items) and others couldn't (like the pairing of hats/pants/jerseys). Yes, they've been making minor corrections through the roster updates- but it hasn't been anything drastic.
Ron told me that the red Ranger's hat that is paired with their blue jersey might be corrected in the patch #2.... so maybe the same goes for the others if you guys inform them over on the 2k boards.

Not 100% sure you can place all the blame on 2k. These game publishers that have the exclusive licenses receive style guides from the leagues that are supposed to be uniform guidelines for the upcoming year.

For those that play football (Madden) you are likely familiar with EA having these same problems up until last season. Anyone recall the Browns with orange pants?

I still recall EA getting my Seahawks unis wrong (white pants w/ blue jerseys at home) the year the exclusive license was signed ('05). Last year, someone even posted a page from the NFL Style Guide (which was wrong).

According to Ron the Admin on the 2K boards, this is what has happened with MLB2K as well. Granted, ANY company can do their due diligence and look for themselves and only use the Style Guide for a reference, but at the same time the leagues should have these correct.

The orange pants were ok. They actually wore those at some point in time. It was the "brown" pants that were the attrocity. It was the only choice to wear with the white tops too. This year EA got it right....and then the Browns actually wore these brown pants in the preseason this year. They were just as ugly in real life!

I don't mind all the extra uniforms as long as they get the basic home/away/alternate correct first.

You make a good point, and I agree- if they're using the style guide, and that's inaccurate, then they can't really be 100% at fault. It just seems as though after 3 years of having inaccurate uniforms, and hearing us complain about it, they might think, "maybe we should get additional info since the style guide doesn't seem to be accurate." Clearly, MLB The Show 09 was able to create much more accurate unis, I don't see why 2k can't.
