Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders V 2.0 on 2K Share
Guru bro, is it at all possible to post what changes you made? I would rather not have to start my franchise over again just to make a few adjustments. Its actually somewhat annoying that franchise difficulty sliders are different from loading sliders via the main menu. Not sure why they did it that way.Comment

Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders V 2.0 on 2K Share
Ok first game ended and I'm liking these sliders. I was Yanks vs O's
NY 2 runs, 7 hits, 1 error
O's 4 runs, 9 hits 0 errors
I also was walked 3 times and got in a few 3-0, 3-1 and 3-2 counts. Struck out about 7 guys with CC, had some called strikes called. The one thing I adjusted was I lowerd CPU fielder speed, seems they get to everything so there isn't really any seeing-eye singles or gappers.Comment

Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders V 2.0 on 2K Share
Played my first game with these sliders...
This is in my Franchise with a Fantasy Draft, hence the players on certain teams.
Sort of a "live blog" of the game...
Had a very "realistic" inning... Grudzielank walked on 5 pitches, including 3 straight to complete the walk. Ortiz laced a double to right center, only to be thrown out on a nice cut off by the 2B from shallow center at second base. It didnt feel cheap at all and felt pretty genuine. Cantu singled in the RBI, Kubel hit into a FC. Thigpen singles, then Pearce flies out to deep left center. My only minor gripe is that Pearce felt like he got enough of it that it should have come down, maybe not enough to get to the wall, but the fielder maybe shouldnt have gotten to it. Another reason I INITIALLY feel like the fielder's speed should be lowered to maybe 50 or so. Maybe even 45, but let me playa few more games before being confident on that.
Later in the game in a tight situation... 1st & 3rd, 2 out, down by a run (1-0, in the top of the 5th) the CPU threw 3 straight balls to Ortiz (fouled two off, missed on the third), that was after getting Grudz to strikeout on a 7 pitch AB that included many balls out of the zone.
Bottom of the 5th inning, 2 outs and Scott Olsen is exhausted (29%) for me after throwing only 47 pitches. On hindsight, I might not have made the adjustment to pitcher fatigue from V1.0 or V1.5. I cant recall. The Pitcher Fatigue here is set to 55, so if I have it wrong, I will check and correct it, otherwise, I feel liek this is the first thing wrong with the sliders SO FAR.
Just got a pickoff at 2B, it didnt quite feel cheap either, not like some of my other pickoffs have felt.
Throwing "junk" certainly helps, although I am not so sure it should be called "junk". It is just a less effective pitch, which in many instances confuses hitters. At least that is how it seems. Dont be afriad to try that.
Also, I am able to get a lot of swinging strikes on breaking stuff down in the zone and hard stuff up high. It feels good. It feels right.
The opposing pitcher (Scott Baker, 1-3, 6.21 ERA) throws a lot of balls on the first pitch to many hitters, with the notable exception of Scott Olsen, my pitcher... 1st AB... 0-2 taking all the way, then a swinging strikeout on a ball way outside that I had no business swinging at. 2nd AB.. He grooves a first pitch fastball that Olsen is able to drive up the middle for a single. Interesting to see little "battles" like that happen.
Olsen is done after just 5 IP. 50 Total Pitches, 43S - 7B. Need to find out what is up with that Pitcher Fatigue.
Another interesting inning, this time for the opposition... Patterson strikes out swinging (Jensen pitching), Blalock singles, Doumit singles, Gabbard comes in in relief, Swisher hits a soft grounder and is just abel to beat out the DP, Drew singles in the run from 3rd (advanced on the FC). Drew then tried to steal 2nd and was thrown out to end the inning.
Successful SB attempt by Willie Harris (other team) in the 7th inning of a tie game (1-1) with 2 outs.
In the top of the 8th with 2 out, the opposing pitcher (Mota) walked Ortiz after going 1-2 to him.
Its the top of the 9th, but the laptop is about to die so let me wrap this up now...
So far the pitching feels REALLY GOOD. With the once exception that I mentioned (which may or may not be my fault), everything else about the pitching feels good from both me and the CPU.
The hitting feels a tad weak though. I felt a little cheated more then once. Not a ton of times but enough to notice. But I'll decide that after a few more games.
So far, I like these a lot. MUCH better then V1.0.
More later... and an update to the game in case anyone is curious. My claim to fame? I started the most popular thread of all time on OS:

Re: ~Guru's~ Custom Sliders V 2.0 on 2K Share
I've played 2 games with these sliders and have had 2 very different results. I really like how star players and stud pitchers are drastically better then average players and pitchers. I'll give an example of this:
In my first game, I was the Rays (Garza) and was playing against the Indians (Lee). I absolutely couldn't hit Lee for anything. We played 9 innings of shut out ball (Garza 9 ip, 2 hits, 0 walks, 9 k's, 90+ pitches) while Lee pitched 10 innings, gave up 5 hits, struck out 4 or 5 and I don't remember his pitch count. It was probably the best game of baseball I've played from the 2k series.
In my second game, I was the Mariners (Morrow) taking on the Rangers (Millwood). I once again went 9 innings with my pitcher (Morrow 9 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 11K) while I knocked Millwood out in the 6th inning after going up 4-2 thanks to a 2 run triple by Bryan Lahair.
Anyways, when I was playing against Lee, he just kept owning me over and over and was damn near untouchable against a potent offense (Rays). Meanwhile, as a lesser offense (Mariners), I was able to score runs off a middle of the road pitcher (Millwood) much easier.
That being said, I love these sliders. My 1st basemen only came off the bag once in the two games, which is acceptable. I love being able to dominate a game with great pitching. As long as you waste pitches and don't leave anything up over the middle of the plate you shouldn't give up a ton of runs. Insiders Edge is huge, I live and die by it.Comment

love these sliders
walks, called strikes, etc. great.
lowered computer fielding speed as stated above to 50, seems good
only problem is teh stupid 1b off the bag plays, still getting one or two a game, but it doesn;t seem like sliders can adust that. patch anyone?Comment

Everything said about the pitching is spot on. I dont use the inside edge as much, but using some basic pitching knowledge, you can dominate and control games. Get lazy or sloppy and you'll pay. Keeps a nice amount of tension in close games.
I might recommend turning the first 3 USER BATTING stats up a tad but only if you are really struggling and dont think you can adjust.
I dont really have the isse with the 1B coming off the bag, I think it only happened once in like 12 games and even that one was a wild throw.
I am noticing that I still get pickoffs fairly easily, especially at 2B.
Fielder speed should definitely by 50.
The pitch meter speed of 100 is GENIUS. Makes the pitching much more rewarding. My claim to fame? I started the most popular thread of all time on OS:

This is a tricky subject. The problem is tha tmost people dont take as many pitches. It is pretty rare to see 100 pitches in my opinion. You can do it with patience (at which point it might become easy to do) but I suspect most dont see that many. I take a decent about (at least a walk a game) but still swing wildly at times and I only average about 82-84.
While on the flip side, to dominate, you need to throw waste pitches and go to 2 Ball counts often, so my pitch count is usually in the 130-134 range. PITCHER FATIGUE should be based on how patient you are.
Think of it like a sliding scale... if you dont take a lot of pitches, then you are going to have to sacrifice your starters arm and bump the FATIGUE up to 55 or 60 so that the CPU will get tired with the small amount of pitches you make him throw. If you take a decent amount of pitches, then you can move FATIGUE down a bit to 45 or so. Which seems to be the most realistic, BUT ONLY IF YOU CAN BE PATIENT... otherwise, you might be going against guys that will bairly break 50% by the end of the game.My claim to fame?
