who would buy APF 2k10 w/out legends.

I would really like to see a new game this year. I don't even need the legends in the game I just want an improved game with a DYNASTY mode. As long as the game is great on the field and I can edit teams and players I will be in heaven. With the $$ saved from the license the game could sell for $50 or they could invest that $$ into the game's budget. What do you guys think.

    Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I'd buy it, as long as they added even more customization.

It depends. Would they still have the tiered system (Gold/Silver/Bronze) and just have randomly generated players at each tier or would it go back to number stats? They've still got the contracts for the legends for another year or so, so if they were going to bother making a game they might as well put them in it.

The real issue for me would be whether or not it was good, not if they had the legends or not. Playing with legendary players is nice, but it does no good if the game is terrible.

I'd buy it without the legends. We already have one 2k game with legends (which is great), another one would be overkill.

2k needs to find a way to keep 2k football relevant.

A 100% customizable football game (rosters, uniforms (including helmet logos), stadiums, you name it) sold for $30 (with good advertising) would go a long way to doing that.

That's what I'd do, although 2k aren't known for common sense.

I never pre-order games. If they make a new football game I would preorder the second available to show 2k support on this
            MLB the Show - Cubs
            2015: 80-82
2016: 96-66 - Lost Game 7 of WS (18 innings to Red Sox)
2017: 93-69 - Swept by Red Sox in World Series
2018: 100-62 - Swept by Dodgers in NLCS
            2019: 14-11

Yes. I would get rid of the tiers though and just go totally generic and fully customizable. I wouldn't even edit it into an NFL game. Add a good franchise also. With no franchise I might pass because I probably won't play online anytime soon again.

But I want a new game bad.

It matters. If it's simply a retread of 2k8 with minimal improvements, no franchise mode, no customizable online leagues (i.e. fast mode), not much customizability, and a high price tag, I would probably wait until it got down to $8 again. I love 2K football, but I also recognize lazy development too. And 2K5 was the embodiment of ambitious development and successful execution. 2K8 was not. If a hypothetical 2K10 provided value, then I would get it. I'm not blowing $60 on a game I already have.

They should make a football game thats based on building your own team to your liking. I like a high flying passing game with good overall defense so that would mean I need good receivers with speed so thats what I would look for in the draft or free agency. Maybe you could start off as an person looking to buy a team and then you would search for a team thats built for passing or running, depending on what you like. Then you would start off with the default team and slowly replace older players and develop younger players with good stats. But yeah I dont need legends or the nfl to buy 2K football.

I would definitely buy it. All they have to do is give you a certain amount of Points or Money to build a team.

That's what I want!!! I just want a great game of football with a deep dynasty mode. Customize to my likes etc.. I loved 2k5. I liked 2k8 needed dynasty and a little more to edit. a 2k10 with dynasty mode would be a pure 10.0
As a kid I played so many games without the actual teams and players etc.. I just want the fun of the sport and the depth of a great challanging dyanasty with ups and downs over the course of 20+ seasons.

With franchise mode, this would be a definite purchase for me. I could care less about the legends now - that game has already been made and we all own it. I know I obsessively enjoyed my FPS FBPRO franchises that were started in fictitious universes. A NFL license isn't really necessary for (many, not all, for sure) people to get into franchise mode. The combination of realism and fun is where it's at. Plus, of course, 2k could open the game up so that modders could add NFL stuff for folks who jones for that.
