I just bought NFL HC 09

Hey, finaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally I have got around to buying this game.

Got it on eBay for $20 US.

Hoping to get it within a couple weeks.

So basically I started this thread to get a bit of a head start...

I'm gonna be going with the Vikings in franchise mode and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations on sackings, firings, hirings etc..

I plan to chuck a Brad Childress and just stick it out with Jackson in the first year and see how good i'll be at progressing him.

I also think im gonna start pre draft and draft my own guys for the team, so any suggestions there would be good too.

I actually made it an attachment. Some guy suggested that I zip it first and then upload it to the site. So I did that.

Do not make too many big trades early on. You get penalties to your cap after you trade a player and if you do too many in one offeason you kill any cap space you have. This might also seem like a no brainer but do not sign a big time free agent only to trade them later on. That also kills your cap space.

          Thanks for the tips.

Sounds like it's a whole different ball game to Madden 09's franchise lol.

Where can I find that zip file Demonolith?

Too bad you waited. They were on sale in stores for $10 over the holidays.

I live in Australia, I can't buy the game here and I only just got my PayPal account set up. So it was one of the first things I bought.

I still feel I got it at a good price, $40 AU which includes shipping and insurance.

Hoping to have it by middle of next week.

Wow, I haven't been glued to my PS3 like that in one hit for a long time!

I got a few things to say and just so I don't muddle it all up in sentences, i'll do it in bullet points..

I'll start with the bad/odd, that's the easiest to think of right now..

                • Passing stats, WOAH they were big.. Lots of players with over 20 INTs, JT O'Sullivan got MVP with 52 TD 21 INT and over 5000 yards - WHAT!? Any way to adjust these sim stats? Because besides the exaggerated QB stats the rest is quite decent I though.

                • Free agency - Why was I offered to sign everyone available? I pressed 'O' to close them probably over 100 times, is there a way to avoid going through the whole list?

                • The menus - I feel very overwhelmed by everything.. There seems to be so much to track and I don't even think i've looked at everything yet!

And with all those somewhat negatives it's been quite addictive.

I'm not sure if I want Madden's franchise to be exactly the same, but there is a lot of good with this game and id like some stuff to make it to Madden's franchise but with Madden's franchise feeling like last gens one - if that made any sense?

And for those interested I used the Vikings and went 0-4 before going on a 7 game winning streak and I finished up 10-6 and won the division.

I beat the Eagles in the Wild Card round in a close game.

I lost Adrian Peterson for the rest of the season and next game I got murdered by the Cowboys in which Owens got 180 yards and 5 TD!

                  Few more points..

                  • I don't like the way depth charts are, in Madden 09 it's easier to understand who is next in line on the depth chart, especially when changing them. In this one I have to scroll through 10 players to get to my next DE for example

                  • Similar thing with looking at stats, it's actually quite annoying to me. When you sort any category by stat it includes those that havnt had many plays, I don't want to look at all the players who are 100% at throwing the ball and only thrown it twice!

                  • Is there a way when you trade FOR a player to include a player from your roster?

Also if anyone does end up reading this could you point me to some sliders to fix the passing stats up? I just simulate games but I can't bare to see again 3 players with over 40TD and 20 INT and 5000 yards.

For this is happen you have to have players on the trading block and then the other team has to have interest in those players.

Say you put Chester Taylor on the trade block and attempt to trade for Brady Quinn. The browns may take taylor and a 3rd rather than just a 2nd.
