- Gamespot: Fight Night Round 4 First Look (360)
"The most crucial improvement is the game's brand-new physics engine. The sweet science is represented in a much more true-to-life manner in FN4, and that's most plainly seen where the fist meets the face. Every punch in FN4 is procedurally animated on the fly, meaning that punches are nearly as varied as you would find in a real boxing match." - Joystiq: Fight Night Round 4 Impressions
"Boxer's individual attributes are also being taken into greater consideration. For example, in the fight we saw, Tyson's shorter reach meant he had to get in close to Ali to do some real damage with quick hits, while Ali's greater reach afforded him some distance, but he was also slower overall. This system of tactical trade-offs will play out across eight weight classes and, as we were told, more than 45 boxers."

Re: Fight Night Round 4 First Look (Gamespot/Joystiq)
Interesting stuff:
- HUD always on in FNRD4? Now it has stamina, health and blocking meter.
- Body hooks are now thrown by flicking right sitck to left/right, body uppers by moving it to 4 or 7 o'clock.
- Bob and weave while moving is in. Move left stick to left/right to move upper body while walking.
- They keep saying how detailed and fluid the game is.
- Release date in July?
- They say the "Create a Boxer" feature will "eclipse" Round 3's features.
- Screen now flashes when you land a good hit...(only thing I am not liking right now, sounds arcade-y) -

Unless the flashes & HUD can be turned off, I just found out this game isn't for me.
All this graphical detail & they still need HUDs & flashing lights? Where does EA get these ideas? What wishlist were these features on?Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

It's not too uncommon to see a flash when you get cracked. I really don't mind that addition at all.
I can go either way with the HUD. I liked not having one in Round 3, but in Prizefighter I thought their system was pretty good. As long as it can provide me with some realistic boxing I'll be happy.Comment

Im not crazy about Health gauges either. but i hope its just there for those long 12 round decisions and the fight can still be ended with just one clean spectacular punch.
In fight night 3 you could turn the HUD off but it was still there in the background and you were actually at a disadvantage when fighting someone online by not having it on."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Wow,that has to be the most insignificant "game killer" I've heard in a long time. Not to worry though, I can't imagine that not being an option by the time FN4 hits the streets.Comment

I like the elimination of the "Cutman Minigame". Now between rounds you can spend "Points" on replenishing your health, stamina, or blocking ability or just bank your points for later in the fight.
Great blocking system and EA has finally heard the cries to do away with the parry.Comment

Yea, I never play with the HUD on, but I know a lot of people did online. You can just tell when they get uber aggressive out of no where.Im not crazy about Health gauges either. but i hope its just there for those long 12 round decisions and the fight can still be ended with just one clean spectacular punch.
