    RTTS--Are some categories worthless?

I'm talking about stuff like clutch, vision, discipline--is there any reason to train any of that when directly controlling the player?

vision affects the size of your plate coverage indicator. Even if you have PCI turned off, it's still there, you just can't see it. A larger PCI will allow you to make better and more solid contact. Clutch will allow more hits with runners in scoring position and get a hit more often in tough situation. This is debatable, though I have recently added point to Clutch and it seems to help. Discipline is mostly for simming (less K's) but I think it also affects whether check swings are called balls or strikes.

The only attribute I am not sure of is baserunning aggressiveness. I know it allows for more steal attempts on simmer games, but not sure what else.

Yes, they all count for something.

Cluth - kind of obvious, but for example, even if u line up everything correctly, ur player still might not come through if "clutch" is low

      Vision - Not sure exactly

Discipline - Check swings it swhen that really comes into play...low "discipline", less chance of holding up

This is a great questiona and I am wondering the same since the manual doesn't state these either. Anyone else know the official answers or seen results when one is higher?

Exactly--I'm not saying you guys are wrong, but is there a source for this? Perhaps in prior games or something?

Actually, there's a description of every attribute in the game in the ingame strategy guide (pause menu while in a game).

Either look it up yourself, or hang tight - I'll post some screenshots for proof of what they do.

Here ya go - this is the only one I'm gonna post, but hopefully you can figure out where to go to look at the rest. Btw, I know that may seem like vision would be a bad thing (making contact on mistimed swings) but the majority of the contact on swings like those are foul balls. Vision increases fouls and decreases K's, more or less.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I just hate seeing the wealth of info in that guide go unnoticed, and pimp it every chance I get.

Discipline affects your ability to draw walks. If you have low plate discipline, it will be hard for you to draw walks as the CPU will throw you a lot of strikes. I currently can't draw many walks in my RTTS because my discipline is only around 40, but in '08 I was able to draw 100+ walks a season once my PD was maxed out.
