STRUT24s stance/motion edit thread for Knights rosters

Ok guys, I finally got the game and will hopefully be able to dedicate the time like I did last year to come up with some edits for batting stances/pitching motions. I have only played 3 games or so but from an early glance, they have really fixed a good amount of the stances and even tweaked some of the good ones from last year. Use this thread for stance/motion suggestions and I will try to compile a list and use video from Spring Training/WBC and my MLB.tv subscription to do some cross referencing to come up with the best choice. I will then add the best choice to Knights/Razr's roster edits and upload a word file that had the top 3 or so choices for guys who we couldn't all agree on.

Hopefully stream lining this will speed up the process cuz last year took a LONG time.

Re: STRUT24s stance/motion edit thread for Knights rosters

I love this stuff and I am willing to help. I do the same thing u do with respect to watching games on tv, mlb internet package, and so on. Anyways, there are quite a few, if not one for every team, threads for each team editting stances, deliveries, and pretty much everything to do with that team. So look out for those for help as they usually consist of diehard fans of that particular team.

The one thing I wanted to alert u to, which u probably already know, is the "hidden" stances and "hidden" deliveries. Anyways, this dude made a thread and made a list of all teams and all things "hidden." So hopefully it's close and there are no mistakes, cuz u know that if u change a "hidden" stance/delivery u can't get it back. Alright, well heres the thread, and I'll help as much as possible. Later

I'll get you my Cubs spreadsheet tomorrow as well. I need to fine tune a couple of the young guys and non roster guys as well as seperate out stances and deliveries from all the other accessories.

I've collected most of the community suggestions already:

          Player Edit Thread 09

It seems like we have a lot of separate projects that overlap... Anyway, there is a lot of edit stuff including stances and pitching deliveries in those blogs.

For TB's Evan Longoria, here's his actual stance:

Here's the "hidden" stance in the game for him:

Here's the best stance (Stephen Drew) that fits:

I agree to this as well. In fact I was between three stances; Steven Drew, Derrek Lee, and Yadier Molina (someone elses suggestion). But I thought Drew's and Lee's were the closest. The only issue with Lee's is that the bat might be a little too high, but other than that I think it's closer to correct like Drew's than Monlia's. Molina's stance is more off than Drew and Lee's cuz the bat bounces off his shoulder, and his front toe is pointed to the ground unlike Longoria's that sits flat on the ground. It's a bummer that they couldn't add the Rookie Of The Year's batting stance into this game. But with everything that they did add this is minuscule. Later

I don't mean to come off as nitpicky but Drew's stance is too open. In last year's game i almost got Longo's stance perfect. I haven't looked this year, but I'll check what i had last year and let you guys know if it still applies this year.

I've been watching Mike Lowell's last couple of starts and have been really looking at his stance. He seems to be more upright, and that could possibly be from the hip surgery. I record all Sox games, and Friday's game against the Yankees had some really good angles while Lowell was batting (side view, and front view). The side view was the best cuz I really couly see what he was doing with his bat. Instead of just rocking the bat back and forth from left to right it's more left to forward right. So needless to say the best stance was Troy Glaus. You could certainly use Kotsay, Hawpe, or Jose Guillen, but I think Troy Glaus looks best for his stance this year. But you're all welcome to your opinion. Later

                      Mike Lowell - Troy Glaus

it might be a good idea to NOT change any of the players who have hidden stances, since we will have no way of changing them back if we preferred the hidden one. Know what I mean?

For those players, maybe just leave them as is, and have a post available to what you would have changed them to.

ie. I actually dont mind the Longoria stance, and though its not perfect I really like that they have his walkup to the plate. It would kinda suck to lose this stance and never get it back. Would be good to give us the OPTION of changing it.

I don't mean to sound like the annoying person who comes in and says "this is already a thread, so no need to start a new one," but I am gonna have to be that guy. The only reason is that we all want to have the most accurate stances and motions, and I'm sure we all want everyone's edits to be most accessible. So, if you have any edits, please put them in the individual team thread, most of which have already been created, or in shinyhubcaps' compilation of all the teams (link ^), which is great. Or better yet, put it in both if you want to. I just think that makes all the edits most easy to find in these busy threads. Thanks.

The big difference is the "for Knight's rosters part" this will eventually be fully operational like my pitch edits thread with the "official" full minors stances and deliveries document, etc.
