I tried the demo awhile back and enjoyed it and the sale ends in a few days and it will go back up to $59.99 so I am considering picking it up.

Overrated??? Why do you think that? Compared to Yukes (pukes), AKI is clearly superior. Spike is good but I prefer AKI's grapple system better than Spike's. WWF No Mercy is STILL the best wrestling game to be released in the U.S. thus far in my opinion but to each his own.

Re: WWE Legends of WrestleMania Demo Available, Impressions Here

Now that the game is actually in the hands of some players and news is starting to surface about the game, I'm starting to doubt if this game is really worth the money.

a.) In the HIAC match, you always start on top of the Cell, and after throwing someone off the Cell, there's no way to get back up there. Stupid.

b.) In the Ladder Match, the ladder starts in the ring and there's no way to leave the ring. The videos of the ladder match I've watched seem to have the match lasting about two minutes.

c.) In the Royal Rumble, you can't use any grapples. WTF?

d.) Battle Royal matches are basically mini-Royal Rumbles, no pinfall/submission rules like the SVR series.

e.) You can't great your own finishing combos in CAL, and the only finishing combos selectable are ones that the legends and SVR09 guys already have. I don't understand why they have all the parts to make all these legends, yet no finisher for them?

f.) The RRR mode is lame. I thought you'd have the option to Relive, Recreate, AND Redefine each match, however, you only do one of those for each match. It comes to about eighteen total matches and it's complete.

This seems like a really incomplete game. I like the basic controls, and I love the nostaligic feel, but it seems like either THQ rushed this just to get it out there, or they're banking on it selling because of WWE so they half-assed it so they have room to improve in future versions.

Regardless, I dunno if I'm going to buy it or not. Basically all the gimmick matches are useless. The RRR mode sounds like it can be completed in a few hours. It sounds like it could be a fun multi-player game, but I have no one who'd be interested in playing it with me, so I just don't know if it'll be worth the $60. I may just wait for a price drop, I dunno. I've done a complete 180 on this game.

Lack of matches (I had a gameshark so had all kinds of cray sutff but it still would've been nice to have the actual matches) and the eventual 100% AI counter rate mostly. Then there was that glitch that just erased all your stuff with no reason, that one was just fantastic.

Even though this game looks a bit shallow at least it has some good sliders and such. Dunno if you all seen the video of it but here it is:

Re: WWE Legends of WrestleMania Demo Available, Impressions Here

I've cancelled my preorder, there just doesn't seem to be enough replay value in it. Like TimmeH said there are too many restrictions with certain matches and the Legend Killer mode is also pretty easy and short and can be done in a few hours. There was was one guy who has the game on Gamespot and there was a rumour about unlockable wrestlers after finishing Legend Killer Mode and he finished it on one night and no wrestlers unlocked. Just more stupid attires.Exhibotion matches would get old quick and I wouldn't play it for more than a week before it gets boring. It's a rental at best, I don't think I would even purchase it for $30.

They seemed to go all out in being old school, including extras. Also there is no excuse not to have Steamboat, Demolition, Santana, Deisal, Razor and of course Savage in the game.

Based on SVR you know online will be a laggy mess so there's no value in that. I liked the new controls but they should have made it more sim based in every other way and there's no excuse not to have some type of season mode where it could all end at Wrestlemania considering it's a WM theme.

That's too bad they went half assed with it. I guess I'll have to wait for LOW 2 to have a full game.

I haven't played this game or any wrestling game lately, but I know the best for a fact was Day of Reckoning 2 on GC. I still play it now. They need to bring that back.

I've yet to see a match longer than 3 minutes on Youtube. Everything about this game is so by the number's. The same animations and the ladder match is a complete waste of time because you can't leave the ring. Every match will be 3 minutes long.

But wasn't that the original design intent? A more old school arcadey feel like Wrestlefest and other older games, so faster matches and a smaller moveset. They've stressed that all along, so this isn't going to be for everyone as they're obviously going for a more casual gamer as opposed to the hardcore wrestling game fan going by what they've said with focus testing in the past.

I enjoy it for what it is though, and the nostalgia factor's big enough for me to probably pick it up next week. The gameplay sliders may be enough for me if I need to increase difficulty, but I'm not really looking for that, just a fun brawler to play with friends. If we wanted something more substantial, we'd just go back to No Mercy or Fire Pro or something.

That's fine but then they should charge nostalgic prices for it because $60 is ridiculous. This game seem like an expansion pack rather than a full game.

Yeah, I enjoyed the demo simply because of nostalgia but after playing it a few times and hearing more and more about the options and gameplay, this game is probably a rental.
