Hey guy, I wasn't directing the post to you or Guillotine, and if you did, then my fault. The person I was responding to was saying he didn't want people to defend Ian. And all I was saying is that Ian and the crew really doesn't have to do what they're doing as far as taking our feedback. I think it's obvious that they really are trying to listen to our concerns. I do understand where people may be guarded, considering what promises have been made in the past and not fufilled (say hello David Ortiz), but let's just wait and see.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Player Momentum
The one issue I see with this is that WRs often run full speed and then cut at 90 degrees towards the sideline. Fox Sports 'sports science' did a show on this where they measured how Chad Johnson could stop his full momentum in 1 or 2 steps.
This gets to the issue of how the running game does not feature enough cutting -- and I'm not talking about jukes, just cuts. That problem was avoided by 2k because they had the tapping speed burst method, which allowed a more varied feel to the running game. I'm worried that using these larger turning radii alongside the speed burst trigger, Madden will amplify the sensation of controlling a car with a pedal instead of a football player.
Deceleration is just as important as accleration, and with the trigger there's not a good way to replicate the quick deceleration that occurs when cutting because the trigger is too clunky and pedal like. It's like with Madden we need a brake pedal too.Comment

WHO GIVES THE **** THEIR ABOUT 20 MORE PROBLEMS IN MADDEN THEN MAKING CUTS. LETS FOCUS ON THE OLINE BLOCKING AND THE TERRIBLE FRANCHISE MODE.AND ESPN BROADCASTING. MADDEN HAS TO DO MORE BUT THEIR MAKING SOME PROGRESS SO FAR.Comment

Looks good."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Player Momentum
Well I hope you guys are right in saying it is still too early. I do hope we get bigger announcement as the game gets close to release. I want to hear how the gameplay itself is being fixed and what they will do about team AI playing like their real life counterpart.....
Again sorry for being pessimistic and I hope I am proven wrong.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Player Momentum
ESPN broadcasting is virtually impossible with EA having both the ESPN license and NFL Network license. They can't chose one over the other, making the other mad. So they use a generic one.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Player Momentum
get rid of turbo and have the left stick be the speed
you hold it a little, you dont run as fast. hold the stick all the way down = youre at top speed
the way it is now running as fast as you can isnt the fastest you can go, you have TURBOOOOOOO!!!!
no nfl player has 'turbo' when they are running
they have 'break away speed' and maybe that should be a new attribute
but PLEASE do away with the turbo button. its totally unrealisticComment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Player Momentum
They can't. Upsetting one of their big sponsors enough could have them pull the plug on their sponsorship, losing money. If NFL Network pulled their sponsorship, I doubt Chris Collinsworth would be back as an announcer.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Player Momentum
Thank you.
Also, welcome to OS.
You will need to practice a bit of patience. The developers told us a few months ago that they were giving out small announcements that would lead to bigger announcements from draft day till summer.
Oh, and ESPN won't make it in. No one knows for certain, but it sounds like ESPN and the NFL network would conflict with each other.Comment
