    St.Louis + Beer = Money, money, money!!! :)

Oh how I love the fans in St.Louis. And now we know why I'm 3rd in the majors in funds right now.

Thus far, through the month of April..(13 home games) I've made over 3 million dollars in profit off the sale of beer. I laughed my butt off when I saw that.

So, whats been your top selling item thus far?

You have to be drunk to watch LaRussa bat the pitcher 8th and think you are watching good baseball.

If you have two lead-off type players in the line-up and AP hitting 3rd, it's a sound strategy.

In fact, it's really no different than what most AL teams have been doing for a long time. Worst hitter at #8, second lead-off type guy at #9.

But I guess a lot of people are still stuck in the 1920's when it comes to line-up methods.

I was bored enough to crunch the numbers on last season. The Cardinals starting pitchers, batting in the 8th spot all season, led the majors in leaving runners on base. The stated reason for the idea, which was to have Pujols bat with more men on base, is also blown because Pujols batted with fewer men on base last year than his career average.

I have little doubt that the extra men the Cardinals left on base last year as a result of this goofy lineup cost them the playoffs.

Don't be surprised if even hard headed LaRussa figures it out and bats the pitcher ninth this year.

The pitcher is batting 9th this year for the Cardinals.

They had the fourth best team offense in the NL last year, but I'm sure it was the pitcher batting 8th and not the sketchy pitching staff with a revolving door at closer that cost them the playoffs, amiright?

Take away half of Izzy's blown saves and the Cardinals were the wildcard no matter where the pitcher was batting.
