Micheals played minor league ball for 12 different teams in 10 years, only getting a couple of big league at bats. He retired from pro baseball in 2005, going home to Beloit, WI and playing bar league softball in his spare time. Friends in his league convinced him to try out once again, and this time he's got his shot. Played catcher when he was younger, but was always a defensive liability. At 38 years old, he'd have a hard time playing catcher. So he now stands at first base, only playing catcher when necessary.

Going from slow-pitch softball to the big leagues, he's not going to be making much contact. But he swings hard in case he hits it, and when he does it goes a long ways. Think Adam Dunn. Except shorter and fatter.
