Cut scenes after strike outs.

What is your opinion on these?

I really don't have that big a problem with them, however I feel that these can tend to take away from the realism of the game. Whenever I play one of these games, I always like to get the feel like I'm watching the game myself hence the reason I use the pitcher cam for pitching. I getting rid of SOME, not all just some of these cut scenes would make the game a little more realistic.

So instead of changing camera angles and zooming in on the batter after the strike out, the camera angle would just stay the same behind the pitcher and you could watch the interactions between the batter and ump from there.

Another thing that I think could be added is more batters realizing they are struck out after a called strike instead of arguing with the ump each time. I'd like to see some batters just walk to the dugout after being called out instead of looking back at the ump each time.

99/100 times if a batter strikes out looking, he doesn't think he should have struck out, otherwise HE WOULD HAVE SWUNG!

Completely untrue. Batters get fooled all of the time, otherwise the ones that they strike out at swinging on they would have hit if they knew what pitch was coming, as well as where and when. That backdoor slider that they take for strike three fools them the same as the slider that runs out of the zone that they chase and miss.

But yes, there are times when they disagree with a call.

I think the cutscenes are fine. My only problem is when the pitcher taunts the batter. That very rarely happens in real life, and it surprised me to see it in The Show. It's something more suited for one of EA's games.

Little off topic but what is strange (yet it cracks me up everytime) is when a guy gets a weak single or something and you see a cutscene of him pumping his fists and getting all excited. It was just a single and it wasn't even in an important part of the game. It just cracks me up how overly excited the player gets after hitting a weak single.

the cut scenes after strikeouts and walks takes the surprise out of it, if cut scene happens you know its strike three or ball four. Its the only problem I have with this game. maybe a patch with an option to turn this off, or fix it for next year.

I don't think the OP was complaining about the players reactions so much as he was saying he'd rather watch them unfold from the centerfield camera like on TV. I kind of agree. They don't really bother me as they are but it might be cool just to see them unfold from the regular cam and save the cutscenes for when a guy is really heated.

When they turn to the ump after a swing I've always taken it as they're asking if the pitch they swung at was a strike, which you see often in real life.

As for your second one, it does happen. It seems to usually be triggered by a double play with no outs, but I've seen it other random times.

The only thing that needs tuning is the catcher throwing the ball to 3B on a strikeout as he throws it right through the player for some reason. Otherwise, it's all gravy.
