Holy crap am I ever conflicted

I have a PC & a 360. Which do I choose?..

1) MVP 2005 PC - I still have it, and I know mods have been made for it, but I never could get over the fact that the catcher never throws the ball back to the pitcher. Plus, an even better game is...

2) MVP NCAA 2006 - I'd have to buy a refurbished XBox to play it, since my old one took its final dump, and MS seems perfectly content to not add it to the backwards-compatibility list for the 360. But it's still the best baseball game I've ever played.

3) MLB 2K9 - Ugh. Do I buy this mess and pray for a miraculous patch? So much bad press, so many complaints. How do I pull the trigger here? But it looks so good when it wants to...

4) Trade it all in and buy a PS3 & The Show. But after looking at its mile-long list of bugs and glitches in THAT forum, I'm not convinced it's all that much better than 2K9.

I admit 05 and 06 are great games 2k9 is not that bad I rather enjoy it and the 2nd patch might make it great

Yes.... The show has bugs but I honestly think they aren't major and game killing like 2k9 has. I have both and like 2k9, but the gameplay bugs are just too much to cope with right now. People that are complaining about the show is probably because they are holding that dev team to a VERY high standard now because of how good the game is.

2k9 isnt that bad. and if the patch fixes what they say it will fix the game will be much better. but if you wanna trade everything in for a PS3 and The Show then go right ahead

lol...it never ceases to amaze me how many people become "conflicted" by these menial decisions. The differences between the PC and 360 pretty much been beat to death (aside from the obvious 40$ price difference).

It sounds like you'll be purchasing one version of the game either way, so I honestly don't why a little reading up will cause a headache.

Just to blur the lines even more...Amazon is now offering the game for $39.99 with free shipping for Xbox 360. That sent me over the edge for this game.

I have 2k9 on Xbox and I enjoy it. But I need a game that is well polished in all areas. I feel like that game is the Show 09. I am saving up to buy a ps3. I'll probably get it in a couple of months, but it is worth the extra buck for a great game.

It really depends on what you are looking for. 2k9 gives me some of what I am looking for but leaves me longing for more. It is esepcially hard to resist since every review out there is clamoring for the Show.

Either way, I think you will be happy!

You want a great BB game get the show. It is the best sports game ever made. Hate to sound like a commercial for it but I bought a ps3 just for it LAST year and have not regretted it one second. The bugs you are reading about is because the game is held to such a high standard. None of them are game killers.

Better yet, rent a ps3 and play a few games, thats all its gonna take lol.

Chitown if you want my honest opinion.

MLB2k9 for the 360 is not as bad as many are making it out to be. Sure there is a bit of a heavy swinging CPU. But that will be fixed. Sure the outfielders have some weird moments, but that is few and far between and getting fixed as well. Other than those few issues and some other smaller ones (2nd base pickoffs & to many home runs). It is a great game of baseball.

The things it does well.

• Commentary is hands down the best in any sports game released up until now
• Graphics and Lighting are pretty solid, not as good as THE SHOW. But it is not a huge difference. Not worth spending hundreds for a system then a new game atleast.
• ONLINE is silky silky smooth. Which is so important for a baseball game online.
• Player models are really good
• Weather and clouds drifting over the field and time of day changing through out is a neat touch
• FUN....This is the most important. I have BOTH the SHOW and MLB2k9. I like both, but THE SHOW just becomes stale with me. Mlb2k9 randomness and variety of shots is something that makes it very refreshing each and every at bat. TheShow I get bored with it I guess. MLB2k9 s just extremely fun!!
