Those animations are light years ahead of Madden. Light Years! I prefer animations over graphics.

Tombsong your post was very insightful. I remember when I bought 2k5 because of the price drop. Before that I got madden every single year. My friend, who also played madden religiously, got 2k5 for the same reason. He didn't like the game because it was different. The same things debated now, how guys were rated, the control scheme, the running animations. All that stuff was different and he didn't like it.

I, on the other hand, gave it more time and ended up just loving the game. I owned madden 05 also that year, which was a great game too. Good memories from both of those.

The things Ian has described in slowing the game down and adding momentum are pointing towards the APF style of football that many of us love. Once others get accustomed to the feel, they will love it too as it replicates real life very well.

I'm convinced that the branching animation system will the savior of this Madden engine. If a large amount of animations are added along with a branching system for nearly every position and situation, the game will be alive and interactive.

Looks like alot of our 2k "cult" as we are called has been keeping a close eye on Madden this year.

I have it preordered all ready and so does my dad. This is the first year since 05 a Madden game will be in my house.

Will it beat out APF/NFL2k5????? Hummmm I sure hope so. Cause as much as I love 2k and the system with APF. I really really just want a great football game.

APF gameplay combined with Maddens graphics and deep franchise would equal to the greatest football game to grace our finger tips

I hope Ian and Co. implement the momentum and everything correctly. Last thing I wanna see is a "half-***" attempt at it and not fully "go for it". Basically don't try to meet both sides in the middle (casul & sim). Make it realistic.....PERIOD

I am really glad to see these videos being posted. It is really showing people, who never even played 2k football, why people who did play it complain so much about the step back that it has been to play madden. It's like driving a Yugo and then finally working so hard to obtain a porsche, then having to go back to driving the Yugo. We will see if this Madden team can get us to the level we want. It won't happen this year. This sounds like Madden 1.0 on next gen, because they wasted the last 4 years. Hopefully, sometime soon though because I don't see EA ever relinquishing the exclusive license.

Shock 3) 2k8 is still a thrill to play compared to the comp (with all their cash).... Plus has the NFL Lic...

This isn't a comparison thread it's nothing but a thread of continuous 2k8 post I've yet to see any footage of Madden 09, since 10 doesn't have any. Hard to compare two dozen APF videos with Madden NFL 10 since 10 has yet to release any real footage.

But in the meantime the APF stuff is coming every 2 seconds. Shouldn't this be in the APF thread and not the Madden thread since obviously 99% of the post are all PRO - APF and nothing but negative talk on Madden.
