Why does Intentional Walk Icon not appear for each hitter?

Why does Intentional Walk Icon not appear for each hitter? I want to intentionally walk guys, and the option is not always on the screen.

I've never noticed that...I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

I have mostly stopped using the 'Intentional Walk' button, and instead use 4 Fastballs way outside. One reason: When you are warming up a pitcher in the pen, he doesn't warm up very in the time that it takes to see that 'one pitch' intentional walk screen...unrealistic IMO.

The only problem is that you open yourself up to Wild Pitches and, I suppose, the occasional one that leaks back over the plate.

The icons are not always under the pitches. I wanted to walk a hitter, the icon was not there, and I got lit up for a 2 run dinger. Wondered if I was missing something or if it happened to anyone else.

Why don't you pitch-out instead? That's what I do.

Yeah, that makes sense...so if the Intentional Walk icon is not there, is the Pitch out one still there?

Using the pitch out option (x instead of circle with the shoulder button held down) either can't be a wild pitch, or it is very rare for it to be wild. I've never had it wild, but I'm not sure if it is possible or not.

So you wanted to intentionally walk a guy but since the icon wasn't there, you just pitched to him? Why wouldn't you just throw 4 balls out of the zone? That's ur fault not the lack of an icon...

Yeah, I didn't get that either. There is a workaround, lol. You get a one pitch intentional walk option in a game (remember this has not always been in games) and when there's a temp glitch we can't figure out how to work around it? Doh!

I could have done that yes, I am just asking why the icons are not there all the time. I am quite aware that I could still pitch around a guy, but a mistake pitch could happen, and a runner on third, you don't want a wild pitch. The pitch out icon and Intentional Walk icon were both gone. It has happened a few times.

They disappear sometimes but it appears you can still use the function. This just happened to me and did the command anyway and it still worked.

Is there a man on first? Because you aren't allowed to intentionally walk a guy with a man in first, that's why you always hear commentators say they will choose to walk him with a base open.
